Responsibilities

  • Design and execute quantitative and qualitative research to inform our understanding of current technological, political, environmental, and socioeconomic trends
  • Interpret insights from diverse reports and datasets to extract actionable strategic intelligence
  • The delivery of futures narratives to engage internal and external partners on how PepsiCo could address it's strategic challenges
  • The potential strategic investments to ensure "no regret strategy"
  • The definition of signals to identify which futures we are moving towards
  • Guidance on which investments will provide outsize gains in different scenarios
  • Successfully communicating those narratives and strategies to senior stakeholders in partnership with the Senior Director
  • Work with our design and corporate communications team to develop externally facing narratives and assets
  • Providing guidance to Cross Functional and Design Innovation teams as to how they can integrate foresights into their individual practice and their projects

Successful candidates will demonstrate:

  • Ability to collaborate & partner with XF teams to identify new opportunities and work through the development cycle to deliver new products to market
  • A proven ability to move beyond a core design role to understand the complexities of business realities and problem solve outside of their traditional domain
  • Desire to expand on their core skill set to create, strategize, and deliver new business models, services, experiences, that deliver against business goals.
  • Understand how to strategically influence across XF partners to land opportunities and align against strategies in a dynamic and complex environment with competing agendas
  • Proven ability to help deliver actionable visions of the future that point to where companies should go and plan out how to get there

They understand how to translate those strategies into testable prototypes and evaluate them against desirability, feasibility, viability & sustainability as part of a XF team. They are adept at managing highly complex assignments and concurrent initiatives across varied project types

They are comfortable managing the ambiguity inherent in design processes. The Manager understands design methodologies (tools, techniques) and can provide input into design proposals (visions, scenarios) to execute against creative engagements and visualize the desired creative output

Strategic Project Manager & Collaborator:

Working on projects that have critical business significance you will demonstrate the agility to lead strategy, planning, project management. You will be familiar with working in a multi-disciplinary environment, leading interdisciplinary Cross-Functional teams

Partnering with the Design Innovation Senior Director and working alongside the cross functional innovation team, they are expected to lead projects and engage with a variety of stakeholders to get input, assess options and influence direction. They work across all aspects of strategic innovation development leading opportunity identification projects to business, design and sustainability strategies for new business opportunities. They will synthesize research and business needs to ensure identified opportunities & strategies result in sustainable growth and returns for the business

Qualifications

  • Champion Strategic Foresight across the organization, educating while collaborating
  • Draw on diverse perspectives to solve business and strategic challenges and drive effective solutions
  • Articulate design vision through prototyping, scenario modeling, system mapping, service blueprinting, business model canvas, back casting, strategic roadmaps, etc
  • Collaborate closely with researchers, marketers, R&D, supply chain, operations and sales to cross-pollinate ideas, methods, and approaches
  • Build and evolve methodologies, nurture the maturity of the design & innovation capabilities
  • Provide mentorship and support the professional development to junior team members
  • Work collaboratively to build relationships and get things done through formal and informal channels
  • Expert fluency in strategic foresight methods and applications (i.e. scenario development, drivers analysis, critical uncertainties, windtunneling).
  • Working knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research tools and methodologies
  • Demonstrated ability to drive projects to completion
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills to build strong relationships throughout the organization
  • Impactful, polished and adaptable communicator - written, visual and verbal
  • Demonstrated ability to drive projects to completion

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience, with a minimum of 6 years (recent) in a strategic foresights/Futurist role
  • Degree(s) in Strategic Foresight, , future studies, data journalism, data analysis in the social sciences, or related field Product Design, Architecture, Engineering, and/or Business

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with the challenges and opportunities of the Foods and Beverage industry
  • Proven track record of strong leadership, team management skills and a strategic acumen
  • Superior project management skills; attention to detail
  • Compelling presentation and proposal skills
  • Proven ability to multi-task, work in ambiguous and dynamic work environment; is comfortable with risk and uncertainty
  • Must be willing and able to travel 20% of the time

EEO Statement

  • Expected salary range is $132,000 - 142,300/year
  • Bonus based on performance and eligibility; target payout is 19,800 to 21,345 [e.g., 15% of annual salary] paid out annually
  • Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement
  • Other benefits, subject to elections and eligibility: Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability, Health and Dependent Care Reimbursement Accounts, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), Insurance (Accident, Group Legal, Life), Defined Contribution Retirement Plan
