Position Overview:

As the leader of the IBP data engineering team, you will be the key technical data expert overseeing all deployments of data pipelines for IBP, including currently underway deployments plus all upcoming new deployments in North America (PBNA, PFNA, PMF). You'll oversee a team of data engineers who build data pipelines from various source systems, rest data on the PepsiCo Data Lake and enable exploration and access for analytical components and supports IBP demand, supply and financial planning processes across all deployments. You'll be working in a hybrid environment with in-house, on-premises data sources as well as cloud and remote systems. You will be a collaborative leader, who drives for results and is nimble to handle the changes that will invariably come in a complex program at various stages of deployment globally, and particularly for new NA deployments in very large, complex business units.

Responsibilities

  • Building and managing a team of data engineers who will build a DevOps, "code-first" approach to data cleansing and data validation at scale
  • Manage and scale data pipelines from internal and external data sources across PBNA and PFNA per the data requirements of Data Objects
  • Oversee work with internal clients and external partners to structure and store data into unified taxonomies and link them together with standard identifiers; this work will be based on partnership with the Global Data Governance team.
  • Work with the Enterprise Data Architecture team to implement taxonomy mapping schemes into Enterprise Master Data standards
  • Architecture experience with Cloud Native, Hybrid and Hyperconverged Data Architectures
  • Collaborate with internal clients (data science and product teams) to drive solutioning and delivery/planning discussions
  • Plan and execute secure, best practice data management strategies and approaches

Compensation and Benefits:

  • The expected compensation range for this position is between $165,000 - $335,000 based on a full-time schedule.
  • Location confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting actual starting salary.
  • Bonus based on performance and eligibility; target payout is 30% of annual salary paid out Annually.
  • And an additional target payout of 15% of annual salary is paid out over 3 years following the end of the performance period.
  • Long term incentive equity may be awarded based on eligibility and performance.
  • Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.

Qualifications

  • 12-15 years of overall technology and data experience
  • 5+ years leading a cloud-based data engineering and/or business intelligence team responsible for data integrations and data harmonization
  • Currently managing a 30-person or larger team

Skills, Abilities, Knowledge:

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, along with the ability to influence and demonstrate confidence in communications with senior-level management
  • Proven track record of overseeing a portfolio of multiple projects and experience leading large scale global transformation program at a company with global footprint.
  • Strong change manager. Comfortable with change, especially that which arises through company growth. Able to lead a team effectively through times of change.
  • Extensive experience with business intelligence tools, designing, reporting and delivering analytic solutions, data management and warehousing, and the strategic use of information
  • Ability to understand and translate business requirements into data and technical requirements
  • The high degree of organization and ability to manage multiple, competing projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Positive and flexible attitude to enable adjusting to different needs in an ever-changing environment
  • Experience with data in the supply chain and commercial domain within CPG a plus
  • Strong leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills; comfortable managing trade-offs
  • Proactively drive impact and engagement while bringing others along
  • Ability to lead others without direct authority
  • Highly influential and ability to educate stakeholders on the role of data and its purpose in the business
  • Understands both the engineering and business side of the Data Products released
  • Places the user in the center of decision making
  • Teams up and collaborates for speed, agility, delivery excellence and innovation
  • Experience with and embraces agile methodologies
  • Strong negotiation and decision-making skills
