Responsibilities

What You'll Do...

The Sr CPG Concept Designer is an execution and hands on role, demonstrating strength in design competencies that enables the completion of high performing work, which supports team and delivers value for our team and stakeholders. We are excited to meet an experienced collaborator, as well as someone confident in independently owning and completing a broad variety of tasks.

This individual is highly experienced in the full brainstorming creative process, handling and responsible for curating best in class ideas, creating, delivering early sketch-work to final rendered concepts. Creative output will include food illustration/concept design, packaging design, brand design, graphic design, leverage a wide scope of materials, to translate user centric experiences.

Disruptive ideas will push beyond a solution fit physical product, you will drive clarity and apply creative storytelling in sync with brand DNA and their design targets. The candidate has demonstrated the strength of digital, technology and eco-green-sustainability layers, seamlessly communicated through relevant presentation tools and software.

There will be a focus on deepening PepsiCo's Food Product Innovation capabilities, with circular design thinking at the center of all developments. All innovative proposals will fuel projects that extend our North America portfolio. You will leverage the power of design thinking, to help enhance and build superior offerings, which make the difference to the lives of our current and future consumers.

Through second-to-none XF business partnerships, you will have the ability to inspire and engage cross-functional teams supporting ideation to execution, from test to launch. As well as your creative output, you will collaborate with your peers, other designers, and when needed engage with external partners. We are looking for energy, passion, and discipline in this role. We are looking for a designer who will apply their expertise, improve process, and willing to grow beyond the objective of execution. This individual will have high proficiency planning, organizing, and implementing consistent design principles and processes to ensure that the design, strategy, and production guardrails are met and aligned across design and business partners.

They will be a champion of platform thinking, have the experience to validate ideas, with cross functional partners so big ideas are affordable and scalable.

Accountabilities:

  • Experienced in short, mid and long-term innovation projects.
  • Conducts competitive audits, trend analysis, foresight and secondary research to identify opportunities for brand, experience, and product.
  • Owns the development of content for ideation, prototyping & testing stimulus activities. Tests and refines ideation activities.
  • A champion of circular economy and system design thinking
  • Experienced brainstorming experience and techniques, leading development phases and curating output.
  • Expert sketching, illustration, concept development techniques to create and communicate concepts.
  • Highly collaborative, able to ideate and construct ideas within a ONE team-based design environment, including driving ideation sessions and brainstorming workshops.
  • Experienced in conducting and facilitating concept generation sessions.
  • High-level presentation building and presenting experience.
  • Participate in design research, testing and synthesis leading to development of total product offering.
  • This role partners closely with cross-functional teams and external partners to deliver quality user centered idea solutions with a mind for advancing innovation, and awareness for experiential and industrial design.
  • Technically experienced, able to illuminate ideas and visualize design stories across a variety of media. Communicates outcomes and rationale on tasks clearly to team members. Able to proactively communicate across and with several different teams, comfortable in reaching out to different groups.
  • Synthesize design thinking and build design comprehensive storytelling to convince internal stakeholders as much as end consumers.
  • Continue developing your Design Thinking capabilities and toolbox, to apply these methodologies in driving design projects from ideation to execution.

  • Highly experienced in Sketching, illustration, 2D, 3D CAD, and applied Gen-Ai tools (specific demonstration and portfolio experience leveraging ChatGPT, Dali, Midjourney, Adobe Firefly, and alternative platforms).

Compensation and Benefits:

  • The expected compensation range for this position is between $72,500 - $121,300 based on a full-time schedule.
  • Location, confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting actual starting salary.
  • Bonus based on performance and eligibility; target payout is 8% of annual salary paid out annually.
  • Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.

  • Culinary, beverage or food design experience

Qualifications:

  • Design focused bachelor's degree (e.g. Graphic, Industrial Design, Product Design & Innovation) or 4-6 years of hands-on concept inception to shelf experience, core product design and development, packaging, and innovation pipeline development.
  • Experience working with other designers, R&D, engineering, consumer insight disciplines, consultancies, and agencies.
  • Extraordinary design taste and champion of progressive design trends
  • Advanced in using the Adobe Creative Suite, 3D, rendering & high-level presentation skills.
  • Experienced in human-centered research.
  • Experienced and passion for sustainability and positive global impact
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to work in an ambiguous and dynamic work environment; is comfortable with risk and uncertainty.
  • Effectively collaborate across functions in order to deliver on project plans
  • Drive for results, able to influence and accomplish tasks through formal and informal channels
  • Effectively communicates (verbally and written) with internal and external stakeholders across all levels.
