Safety Assoc Supervisor
Overview
Location: This role is onsite 5 days a week at our 1000 113th St Arlington, Texas location.
The EHS Associate Supervisor role for PGCS Arlington reports into the EHS Manager, and is responsible for the daily health, safety, and environmental operations of the plant while enabling plant production requirements and ensuring all applicable EHS PepsiCo, federal, state, and local regulations and standards are met. The Arlington site, a 60-year-old facility, has approximately 170 employees, in addition to contractors and visitors. The site is on a critical journey transforming the safety culture to Act As Owners, strengthen the environmental compliance, and deliver sustainability / pep+ results.
This role requires strong leadership skills, sound technical and business knowledge, the ability to manage change, and the ability to work collaboratively as well as independently. The role is expected to have excellent functional knowledge across several competencies covering environmental compliance, health and safety, PepsiCo EHS standards, management systems, and employee wellbeing.
Key measures: Proactive safety good catches and Culture Based Safety KPIs, OSHA recordable and lost time injury frequency/ severity, GEHSMS audits, regulatory inspections, pep+ water conservation, energy and GHG sustainability targets.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with Arlington site leadership team to ensure completion of all plant EHS goals and objectives.
- Use influencing skills to lead the continuous improvement of ISO 14001, ISO 45001, & GEHSMS programs and procedures through employee engagement.
- Respond to emergencies as necessary, including off shifts, holidays, and weekends. Initial response and reporting for safety near misses, HIPos, first aids, recordable injuries, and other health related risks impacting employees on-site. This role is responsible for maintenance of the emergency response programs, leading the team of first responders and coordinating their monthly meetings, as well as planning, coordination, and execution of emergency drills and relevant training.
- Develop and deliver monthly EHS Training for all site personnel to maintain OSHA requirements and execution of the GEHSMS EHS training needs analysis. This includes tracking of completion rates and support for make up training.
- Manages plant's proactive safety good catch program - reviewing submissions and connecting with concerned stakeholders to drive proactive risk reduction. Leads weekly synchronization meetings with supervision to develop and implement appropriate controls and close the loop with the originator of the concern.
- Environmental permitting and associated reporting.
- Serve as a key point of contact for government, statutory agencies for routine safety and environmental issues.
- Provide EHS support in the development and execution of site capital plan. Meet the Annual Operating Plan (AOP).
- EHS data management through MyEHS.
- Participate in PepsiCo Global Concentrate Solutions (PGCS) sector and global EHS teams as required.

Compensation and Benefits:
- The expected compensation range for this position is between $64,300 - $107,650.
- Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process.

Qualifications
- Requires a Bachelor's degree; HSE focus preferred. Professional EHS certification preferred.
- Minimum 3-4 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment required; food manufacturing environment preferred.
- ISO auditor trained/certified a plus.
- Functional EHS competency in OSHA and EPA regulatory requirements, EHS technical aspects, risk assessment, training, EHS program management, and EHS vendor/consultant management required. Proven track record in driving a cultural change in EHS. High level of urgency to provide world-class results. DOT knowledge a plus.
Skills & Capabilities:
- Advanced proficiency in Computer skills, specifically Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook) as well as web-based data systems. Experience with SAP a plus.
