Regulatory Affairs Senior Scientist

As part of the fast-paced and driven PepsiCo Global Regulatory Affairs team, you will be responsible for ensuring Regulatory compliance of key foods brands, specifically the recent food acquisition, Sabra Dipping Company. This team is critical to the innovation/renovation process from ideas all the way through to launch. You will have the opportunity to interact regularly with many other functions including product development, specification management, food safety, life sciences, scientific affairs and legal.

Responsibilities

  • The primary focus of this position is to drive the regulatory integration and compliance of Sabra Dipping Company, recently acquired by PepsiCo Foods North America. This includes partnering with R&D product development and marketing teams to enable the innovation and renovation agendas for the brand, and ensuring it comes up to PepsiCo standards and is properly integrated into PepsiCo regulatory systems.
  • The role will be responsible for ingredient qualification, packaging and finished product regulatory compliance responsibilities for US and Canada, approving ingredient statements and nutrition facts for all new formulations and partnering to define and substantiate both existing and new claims in both markets.
  • The position will require an excellent understanding and application of US Food and Drug Administration and/or Health Canada regulations, and a robust experience in the specification and go to market systems utilized by PFNA.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • The expected compensation range for this position is between $76,400 - $127,850.
  • Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process.
  • Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 8% of annual salary paid out annually.
  • Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.

Qualifications

  • BS in Nutrition Science, Food Science, Engineering or equivalent as minimum.
  • 3+ years of regulatory affairs experience with direct experience working with FDA, USDA and/or Health Canada regulations.
  • Strong communication, organization and influencing skills.
  • Effective collaborator, ability to work independently and work well with others.
  • Experience in providing regulatory advice and managing complex food innovation and compliance projects.
  • Strong computer skills and database management.
