PepsiCo Life Sciences (LS) Organization is central to the Company's commitment to charting a new course to drive positive action for the planet and people. As a Senior Scientists in the Physiology & Health team you will have the unique opportunities to participate in scoping and maintaining up-to-date scientific assessment of key emerging benefits (e.g. gut health and metabolic health). You will also support the overall Functional Benefits Research program and execution of functional benefit roadmaps.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a system for staying informed and ahead of publications and emerging scientific data related to key functional topics.
  • Read, review, interpret and catalogue scientific data on the key functional topics, as well as synthesize findings and trends for LS and R&D stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively with the LS Epidemiology and other teams to ensure full awareness and capture of key scientific data sources.
  • Support the Functional Benefits Research Program in the Physiology & Health team with identification or new scientific trends and emerging benefit spaces.
  • Support execution of functional roadmaps as needed by the team.
  • 10-20% domestic travel required

Compensation and Benefits:

  • The expected compensation range for this position is between $76,400 - $127,850.
  • Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process.
  • Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 8% of annual salary paid out annually.
  • Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.

Qualifications

  • PhD in nutrition / life sciences or related fields, with a focus on clinical or molecular nutrition science with 0-1 years industry experience.
  • Studies in the fields of gut and/or metabolic health are strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated understanding of human nutrition, nutrient requirements and recommendations, scientific information gathering, synthesis, communication, and clinical study interpretation.
  • Willingness and flexibility to learn new scientific areas and methodologies.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively in cross functional teams, while working together to meet timelines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; highly organized with an ability to synthesize scientific data and findings for various levels of the organization.
  • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility and ability to work with diverse cultural backgrounds, personalities, work styles across various levels of the organization.
  • Use scientific technical expertise for identification and evaluation of trends/ innovations in nutrition science.
