Responsibilities

The Public Policy and Government Affairs (PPGA) team helps PepsiCo navigate the increasingly volatile and complex policy and regulatory landscape in which our company operates. By anticipating opportunities and risks, we facilitate positive environments and avoid discriminatory regulations. Further, our proactive engagement with a range of external stakeholders ensures PepsiCo has a seat at the negotiating table and allows us to help shape fair policies that are science-based and protect consumer choice.

You will report to the Senior Director, of Federal Affairs. This position will work with both the Senior Director of Federal Affairs and the Director of Global Agriculture Policy, maintaining a dotted line to that role for alignment on agriculture strategy and narrative consistency. This position will be responsible for implementing programs and strategies that enhance PepsiCo's federal standing and help advance PPGA objectives in agriculture.

  • Assist the Senior Director and Director of Global Agriculture Policy in developing and executing advocacy campaigns around the U.S. Farm Bill and other agriculture legislation, ensuring alignment with PepsiCo's regenerative agriculture, conservation, public-private partnership, and con-investment priorities.
  • Represent the company externally on federal agriculture policy issues for the company with policymakers and other key stakeholders.
  • Monitor, prioritize and provide consultation to the Senior Director of Federal Affairs and Director of Global Agriculture Policy on agriculture and other relevant public policy developments impacting PepsiCo; help create advocacy collateral and ensure consistency with enterprise strategy while maintaining positive working relationships with internal and external colleagues.
  • Maintain a network of relationships with lawmakers, staff, industry representatives and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Work with the state and federal PPGA team to help carry out political action campaign goals in support of company objectives.
  • Carry out strategies and actions with the highest level of integrity and ethics.
  • Maintain strong interaction and internal coordination with the Global Public Policy team and broader Corporate Affairs function as well as relevant internal Subject Matter Experts within PepsiCo's North American businesses and at corporate level, including their Sustainability, Operations, Procurement and Legal functions.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • The expected compensation range for this position is between $106,400 - $178,100.
  • Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process.
  • Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 12% of annual salary paid out annually.
  • Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.

Qualifications

  • Strong verbal and written communications skills, including the ability to communicate with internal and external audiences.
  • 3-5 Years of working on Capitol Hill or in a legislative related role; direct experience engaging on U.S. Farm Bill development or implementation (e.g., Agriculture Committee, USDA programs) strongly preferred.
  • Highly proactive and able to navigate ambiguity and complexity while developing successful solutions.
  • Strong relationship building skills and ability to thrive within a rapidly changing environment.
  • Works well under pressure with an ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to focus both on detail and the larger picture.
  • Exhibits a high level of critical/strategic thinking. Recalibrates strategies in response to evolving political and policy landscape.
