PFNA Hygienic Design Food Safety Manager

This position will lead the Hygienic Design agenda for PFNA from the Quality & Food Safety team by setting strategy, providing analytical and deployment support for multiple food safety and capability initiatives. The person hired for this role will be responsible to lead, develop and improve the hygienic design and sanitation aspects of allergen and microbial risk mitigation for low moisture foods. These programs will be leveraged across the Supply Chain function to assist in the delivery of our short-term and long-term agenda.

The selected candidate must have the ability to work with cross-functional HQ and field supply chain teams to create innovative solutions for food safety, including allergen and microbial risk management.

This role will be Plano based and the successful candidate will travel to field locations.

Responsibilities

  • Use a risk-based approach to review allergen and microbial growth controls; including Hygienic Design, GMP and Sanitation Programs to implement solutions that ensure regulatory compliance and consumer safety
  • Support, design and data maintenance of food safety analysis tracking tools and reporting
  • Coordinate with vendors, Engineering and Global Food Safety Teams on the development and ongoing standards of food safe equipment and systems
  • Lead the execution of projects pertaining to the QFS team
  • Collaborate with Field and HQ cross-functional partners to coordinate and gain feedback and alignment on project continuous improvement
  • Lead, develop and conduct a Hygienic Design training strategy
  • There will also be involvement in projects where data manipulation and reporting skills will be needed.
  • Identify and develop corrective and preventative action plans (CAPA) for food safety issues
  • Responsibility for leading specific food safety or regulatory programs and initiatives

Compensation and Benefits:

  • The expected compensation range for this position is between $98,700 - $165,150 based on a full-time schedule.
  • Location, confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting actual starting salary.
  • Bonus based on performance and eligibility; target payout is 12% of annual salary paid out annually.
  • Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required with 5-8 years demonstrated success in quality, food safety, engineering or plant operations
  • Background in Hygienic Design, Engineering, Sanitation
  • Minimum five years of experience in a food company
  • Excellent computer skills in order to perform data extraction, data manipulation, and trend analysis
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills with an ability to interact with diverse organizations at all levels, including Senior Executives
  • Strong understanding of supply chain operations systems and processes
  • Strong mechanical and technical skills
  • Strong organizational and analytical ability
  • Ability to identify business issues and generate creative and sustainable solutions
  • Self-starter with attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities
  • Ability to adapt and implement new technologies quickly
  • Technical knowledge of PepsiCo global food safety programs and the ability to convert to actionable information
  • Knowledge and experience in food safety management systems and sanitation
  • Knowledge in FDA, FSMA, USDA, GFSI, HACCP, and GMP regulations
  • Incremental Certifications or advanced training preferred, such as ASQ (including Quality Manager or Quality Auditor), ANSI, CFS or 3-A
