EHS Coordinator

Overview

This is a 2nd shift position with working hours of 2:30pm-10pm. The candidate will need to work on 8am-5pm the first few weeks for training.

The purpose of the EHS Coordinator role is to provide execution capabilities with respect to health, safety, and environmental aspects for the site. This role will contribute to the Arlington Plant's critical journey to positively transform the safety culture to Act as Owners, strengthen the environmental compliance, and deliver sustainability results. The role requires strong and thorough execution skills, critical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to engage employees at all levels. It also requires ability to work both as an individual contributor as well as collaboratively with colleagues to create a results driven, team oriented environment. This role is assigned to second shift with flexibility as needed to support first shift. This role reports to the EHS Associate Manager.

Key Measures:

Proactive safety good catches and Culture Based Safety KPIs, OSHA recordable and lost time injury frequency/ severity, GEHSMS audits, regulatory inspections, pep+ water conservation, energy and GHG sustainability targets.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate routine day to day EHS operations of the plant while enabling plant production requirements and ensuring all applicable PepsiCo, federal, state, and local regulations and standards are met.
  • Respond to emergencies as necessary, including off shifts, holidays, and weekends.
  • Coordinate with others as necessary to ensure completion of all plant EHS goals and objectives.
  • Perform risk assessments and assist in the implementation of effective physical and/ or behavioral control measures. Recognize and verify the effectiveness of in-place control measures.
  • Participate in EHS investigations where data driven decisions determine root cause. Support closure of developed corrective actions.
  • Support delivery of EHS training programs through development, collaboration, coordination, and delivery of training content. Track and update completion data and coordinate make up training.
  • Coordinate GEHSMS requirements, update related documents, and coordinate GEHSMS audits.
  • Complete EHS related audits and inspections for the site. Maintain all related files - both hardcopy and electronic.
  • Data entry and management in MyEHS. Including but not limited to:
    • Track and update EHS action plans.
    • Enter metrics and analyze EHS data to develop internal reports.
    • Complete EHS compliance tasks and document in the system.
    • GEHSMS incident reporting and self-assessments.
  • Track inventory and maintain EHS essential supplies and services. Create electronic requisitions for EHS related purchases. This includes but is not limited to the PPE vending machine, safety shoe and prescription safety glasses programs.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • The expected compensation range for this position is between $55,800 - $87,000 based on a full-time schedule.
  • Location, confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting actual starting salary.
  • Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.

Qualifications

Skills and Capabilities:

  • Stays updated and tech savvy in utilizing relevant tools, technologies, and platforms to enhance efficiency.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Requires a bachelor's degree; EHS focus preferred. Professional EHS certification a plus.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment required. Experience in a food manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Basic EHS knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulatory requirements, EHS technical aspects, risk assessment, EHS training, EHS program management required. DOT knowledge a plus. Experience driving cultural change a plus.
  • Requires advanced proficiency in computer skills, specifically Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook) as well as internet based data systems. Experience with SAP a plus.
