As part of the PepsiCo Design team, you will partner closely with functional design experts as well as the business to develop brand design strategies across a spectrum of capabilities including product architecture, innovation pipelines, visual identity systems, design guidelines, packaging design, and digital design experiences.

The Associate design Manager will engage with cross-functional teams to drive comprehensive 360 brand design solutions, from ideation and strategy to execution. The main objective of this role is to guide brand design, help craft the brand narratives, prototype, and execute major design projects across the portfolio. Ideal candidates take their craft seriously, but also enjoy designing quick hits for laughs and likes.

Accountabilities:
• Design Project Management: Responsible for partnering across disciplines within PepsiCo and external suppliers to ensure design assets are developed and delivered with quality, value, and on-time. Energizes and leads both the internal team and external design resources from idea phase to commercialization. Ensures each stakeholder understands his/her role and responsibilities throughout the creative process. Regularly reviews the status of projects with appropriate leadership to verify that Company and Division expectations are met.

• Brand Design Development: Takes ownership of the visual identity for specific brands in the portfolio, working in collaboration with the Design Director and other design leaders, cutting across brand, product, packaging, equipment, marketing, and advertising. Generates creative design proposals (visions, scenarios, concepts) inorder to visualize the desired output and share it with internal and external team members. Participates in research activities and effectively translates customer needs into actionable design requirements. Execute those requirements into design solutions. Responsible for driving to final design recommendations, decisions, and design approval to enable artwork execution / production phases. Ensure thorough consideration of all project variables and that the final solution will perform as planned.

• Design R&D and Innovation: Identifies and promotes self-initiated design programs that generate critical business value for one or more divisions.

• External Design Network: Supports the PepsiCo Design Organization in building and cultivating a strong external design network.

• Lifestyle, Design, & Culture: Responsible for staying ahead of current trends in design, fashion, music, lifestyle brands, social media, and all relevant digital platforms. Followed by the need to translate into design solutions consumer connections to elevate our brands, make them hyper-relevant and drives deep consumer love.

• External Design Network: Supports the PepsiCo Design Organization in building and cultivating a strong external design network.

Qualifications

  • BA or MA, 5-7 Years of experience in-house or agency in brand design, advertisement, or content creation.
  • Background in graphic design with a focus on 360 branding identities, packaging + digital outputs with a strong portfolio showcasing both print and digital projects
  • Technically solid, expert at Adobe Creative Suite program
  • Social media-minded curator
  • Great sketching (digital and/or hand sketching) skills and idea development techniques to create and communicate concepts
  • Direction - Researching complex subjects, developing treatments, keeping each project on time and within budget
  • Foundational photography skills including lighting, composition, and retouching; ability to articulate ideas conceptually
  • Team player, avid collaborator passionate for creativity and innovation
  • Excellent written and communication skills
