Job Title: Data Engineer, Data Engineering

Responsibilities

Duties: Actively contribute to code development in projects and services. Manage and scale data pipelines from internal and external data sources to support new product launches and drive data quality across data products. Build and own the automation and monitoring frameworks that captures metrics and operational KPIs for data pipeline quality and performance. Responsible for implementing best practices around systems integration, security, performance, and data management. Empower the business by creating value through the increased adoption of data, data science and business intelligence landscape. Collaborate with internal clients (data science and product teams) to drive solutioning and POC discussions. Define and manage SLAs for data products and processes running in production. Support large-scale experimentation done by data scientists. Prototype new approaches and build solutions at scale. Research in state-of-the-art methodologies. Create documentation for learnings and knowledge transfer. Create and audit reusable packages or libraries.

Telecommuting permitted 30%: work may be performed within normal commuting distance from the PepsiCo, Inc., office in Plano, Texas.

Qualifications

Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science or Computer Engineering and five (5) plus years of experience in the job offered or related role, OR Master's (US or Foreign Equivalent) in Computer Science or Computer Engineering and three (3) plus years of experience in the job offered or related role. Must have five (5) years (OR 3 with Master's degree) of experience with: Hands-on software development, cloud data engineering, and systems architecture; Data Lake Infrastructure, Data Warehousing, and Data Analytics tools; Experience using distributed computing engine such as Spark for data extraction, transformation and load of large volume data sets; Hands on coding experience in Python and Pyspark; Experience integrating multi cloud services with on-premises technologies; Hands on experience planning and executing data migration projects from on-prem to cloud, end- to -end; version control systems like Github and deployment & Continuous integration tools; and Working knowledge of agile development, including DevOps and Data Ops concepts. Must have two (2) years of experience with: Data modeling, data warehousing, and building high-volume ETL/ELT pipelines End to End; data profiling and data quality tools; at least one MPP database technology such as Redshift, Synapse, BigQuery or SnowFlake; Cloud Orchestration tools such as Airflow , Azure Data Factory ,managing complex dependencies and strict SLA's. Must have one (1) year experience with: creating reusable utilities; Hands on experience with Data Visualization tools such as Power BI or Looker; building solutions in the retail or in the supply chain space; and working with ML libraries and awareness of ML concepts.
