The Global Marketing Manager for Snow & Mountain Bike (MTB) is a strategic, highly cross-functional leadership role, responsible for building the brand identity, shape and engagement within the Snowsports and Mountain Bike markets and communities. In this role, you will work closely with the respective Creative Teams, counterparts in Ops, Community/Content, Product, Enviro, and Region and Channel leads, and reports into the head of the Mountains Business Unit. You will oversee the respective ambassador teams, endemic partnerships, campaign strategy and development, product marketing, film and story content, enviro initiatives and grassroots engagement. Collectively, these efforts serve to authentically build our identity, credibility and values-driven position within the Snow and MTB segments, to gain the trust and loyalty of customers and snow and bike riders, and to advocate and drive community activism towards our mission to save our home planet.

What You’ll Do

  • Partnering with the relevant Business Unit leads, refine and drive strategy for the Snow & MTB categories, inclusive of category vision and mission alignment, seasonal Go-To-Market (GTM) and campaign planning, and content mix and community engagement and activation.
  • Create and drive seasonal campaigns’ vision, architecture and briefs that balance sales, story and activism. Partnered with the Creative Studio, develop campaign creative and assets that support the sell-in and sell-through needs of the global channels and regions.
  • Develop relationships with regional and channel-specific counterparts to understand their product and marketing needs, build plans that align shared objectives, and drive overall support and implementation from a global perspective.
  • Partner with the Snow & MTB Product Manager to develop product marketing strategy and campaigns, product shopping tools, educational content on product footprint and repairs, key vendor partnerships, and manage product marketing samples and utilization.
  • Manage a content creation and distribution plan in close partnership with the CCEs (Community Content Engagement managers) and Global Content Marketing team, that builds and nurtures external relationships, and drives a process for authentic and considerate community-sourced stories and content.
  • Manage, develop and utilize the Snow and MTB ambassador programs to support our environmental mission and category vision, inclusive of company values and directive as a just, equitable and actively anti-racist organization
  • Manage and evolve our category-specific outreach strategies and partners, inclusive of event sponsorship, Patagonia-hosted events, endemic media partners, grassroots organizations, mission-aligned non-competitive brand and industry partners, PR activations and other direct community engagement
  • In cross-functional partnerships with Enviro and Brand teams , GTM/Ops managers, and other category marketing managers, support All-Company initiatives by tailoring, deploying and activating with sport-specific audiences. 
  • Develop and deploy a comprehensive category budget that supports the strategy and plan; advise digital team on broader digital marketing spend; partner with other functional teams on budgeting allocations and efficiencies.

Experience You Bring

  • 5-10 years of relevant experience and a proven track record of working in the Snow and/or Mountain Bike landscape, knowledgeable and engaged in the sport and industry communities, and with a history of values-based activism or work.
  • Adept across a comprehensive and modern omni-channel marketing approach, inclusive of grassroots, digital, endemic media, and partner strategy.
  • Exceptional understanding of business, product, and marketing objectives with a proven record of delivering against KPIs.
  • Proven time management and project management skills with the ability to prioritize and de-prioritize on a daily basis 
  • Experience setting strategy, storytelling, building community and managing project timelines and budget.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite programs.
