Job Description

Your Career

As a senior front-end engineer at Xpanse, you will be an integral part of shaping the future of Cortex Xpanse. We’re in the midst of building compelling new Attack Surface Management features and refining existing ones. You’ll work with your team-mates to design, build, ship, and maintain features that help our customers prioritize what findings to act on based on their relative risk, and in general shift their security posture from a reactive to a proactive one.

You'll join Xpanse at a key moment in its evolution. We're working hard to build applications that help customers make sense of—and effectively act on—the vast volume of security data they are bombarded with. Alongside building new software, we'd like you to mentor your less experienced colleagues and use your experience to make our whole organization better at planning, communication, and execution. We're looking for people who thrive in collaborative, social working environments, and who are looking to teach as well as learn from others.

Your Impact

  • Design and implement new user-facing features in Cortex Xpanse using Angular on the Cortex application platform
  • Build fast, security-conscious, and intuitive applications
  • Contribute to setting and executing a technical roadmap for our UI codebase
  • Implement, guide, and influence Xpanse's front-end engineering practices

Qualifications

Your Experience

  • Experience w/ built, shipped, and supported modern web applications in production
  • Solid production experience with at least one modern front-end framework—bonus points if that framework is Angular
  • Understand that being a great front-end engineer doesn't just mean being good at JavaScript—you have a strong understanding of functional cross-browser HTML and CSS
  • See and sweat the details
  • Have an eye for, and firm opinions on, application architecture that scales with teams
  • Are experienced with and enjoy mentoring colleagues—you foster a collaborative learning environment
  • Impartially weigh risks and benefits when considering new software patterns or technologies
  • Value and practice clear communication and timely feedback
  • Have at least four years of experience as a professional software engineer
  • Are willing and able to work in San Francisco or Santa Clara, CA
