Manager, Applied AI and Business Solutions
Hi, we're Oscar. We're hiring a Manager to join our Applied AI and Business Solutions team.

About the role
As a Manager on the team, you will be a critical part of shaping and driving our AI strategy. You will lead projects across the organization, such as: member and provider call centers, enrollment & billing, claims & benefits, provider data, utilization management, case management, network, quality, and value capture. This work will be done in tight collaboration with our AI engineering team and the leaders and teams in those areas. Your job includes identifying highest areas of opportunity to leverage AI, diagnosing critical issues and root causes within our operations and existing tech that are amenable to AI solutions, assessing processes and capabilities end to end, and proposing an AI enabled path towards a more optimal and sustainable state.
You will report to the VP, Applied AI & Business Solutions.

Pay Transparency:
The base pay for this role is: $108,000 - $141,750 per year. You are also eligible for employee benefits, participation in Oscar's unlimited vacation program and annual performance bonuses.
Responsibilities
- Your day to day will be driving AI projects end to end: scoping, business case development, data identification and aggregation, workflow transformation, eval creation and iteration, and ongoing monitoring. You are expected to use AI in your day to day to achieve your goals.
- You will help monitor AI projects across the organization, helping identify opportunities, risk, and building internal awareness of the capabilities and applications of AI in how we work.
- To drive these initiatives, you will be expected to:
- Structure the problem, how AI can be leveraged to solve it, and facilitate the problem solving process
- Conduct internal and external diligence, problem structuring, and solutioning
- Research (internal experts, external experts, primary/secondary resources, potential vendor solutions)
- Collaborate with internal teams to co-shape our perspective on how to apply AI with the highest leverage in their areas
- Synthesize / author readouts, focusing on areas that drive direct action
- Flag risks as they arise
- Oversee project management to ensure appropriate structuring and documentation across complex improvement efforts
- Operate with a sense of ownership and with pace
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree or 4+ years of commensurate experience
- 4+ years operations, strategy, or business analysis experience
- Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements in programs
- Experience using Excel/Sheets (charts, pivot tables, advanced formulas) and Powerpoint/Slides
- Experience in a fast-paced operations or strategy environments, and operating with many stakeholders
- Successfully executed cross functional initiatives: defined project plans, coordinated resources, managed implementation activities, and developed all processes associated with program rollout and ongoing support
- Healthcare experience (Health Insurance, Health Systems, or Healthcare Consulting)

Pay Transparency: Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education, and experience.
