A BRIEF OVERVIEW
The Senior Operations & Supply Chain Manager leads two critical functions of the Orchid Santa Ana medical device machining facility. This role is instrumental in the creation and execution of manufacturing, capital equipment, and talent strategies for the site in collaboration with their peers in Engineering, Quality, and Human Resources. The Senior Operations & Supply Chain manager is accountable to all key targets for the site including production, turnover, OTIF, product quality, and more. The Senior Operations Manager reports to the Site Leader and oversees 70+ production team members as well as 5+ support team members in Operations, Supply Chain, and Shipping/Receiving.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Plant Operations Management
- Manages operations in accordance with principles, policies and procedures established by the company.
- Strives to meet and exceed budgeted production and financial goals.
- Reviews production levels for on-time delivery and past due orders.
- Analyzes aggregate capacity utilization on a regular basis and makes recommendations for the purchase of new equipment.
- Integrates Lean thinking into the culture and organization.
- Leads continuous improvement projects and execution of capital projects.
- Interacts with and positively influences current and potential customers during site visits.
- Maintains a safe work environment and ensures health, safety, and environmental procedures are consistently followed.
- Strategic Management
- Develops and launches short and long-term manufacturing plans, ensuring fulfillment of customer and quality expectations.
- Contributes information and analysis to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing appropriate countermeasures for KPIs; identifying and resolving problems. - Works with the management team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel designed to accommodate the company's growth objectives.
- Talent Management
- Leads and develop team members following the One Orchid global talent management approach to select, manage, and develop our best team.
- Ensures the growth of our positive business culture through behaviors that align with our core values and leadership competencies.
- Ensures Performance Goals aligned to support business goals are established and communicated throughout the organization.
- Ensures team members have the required knowledge and skills prior to performing job duties independently, including conducting, documenting and evaluating training effectiveness.
- Supply Chain
- Ensures consistent and visible production expectations that meet the long-term supply plans.
- Develops methodology and assist site Production Planners with systematic management of work orders and shop floor schedules.
- Generates performance metrics for Operations to monitor and control production activities.
- Collaborates cross-functionally with management and workforces across multiple areas.
- Communicates complex issues and solutions to multiple audiences including executive management, production management and subject matter experts.
- Coordinates the use of M2M to maintain capacity models (primarily inside ERP) for production and supply chains at each manufacturing site.
- Maximizes the implementation of system-based analytics and reporting.
- Ensures master data integrity in key systems through process monitoring and control.
- Oversees operations and work order launch between planning and operations for on time starts and on time delivery.
- Coordinates of shipments from Operations and Quality.
EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor (Required)
- Master (Preferred)
EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
- 7+ Years of experience in a manufacturing environment (Required)
- Exposure to integrated business planning (Sales & Operations Planning process), quality system deployment, and lean manufacturing in an industrial setting (Preferred)
- Demonstrated Results in Developing Talent, Organizational Strategies, and Management Systems in a High Revenue Growth Environment (Preferred)
- 3+ Years of Experience in Supply Chain, Purchasing, or Sourcing (Preferred)
- Experience using Enterprise Resource Planning and Material Requirements Planning Systems (Preferred)
- 3+ Years of Experience Leading People (Preferred)
- 1+ Years of Experience in Tactical Purchasing or Buying (Preferred)
- Experience in Medical Device Manufacturing (Preferred)

PAY RATE
For positions located in California, pay for this job type falls within the following range and varies based on scope and complexity of job responsibilities: $129,400.00 - $185,000.00
