Position Details:

Location: Colonial Healthcare, a part of Optum - 674 W Liberty Street, Sumter, SC

\n

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm. (Employee will need to be flexible on end of shift time if patient(s) is still in office.) / No evenings, weekends, or holidays!

\n

Primary Responsibilities:

\n
    \nHelps patients by providing information, services, and assistance\nAdministering medications and injections\nVenipuncture for lab draw\nPerforming EKGs, Spirometry, Flu and Strep Tests\nMaintains medical supplies inventory and performing preventive maintenance to keep medical equipment operating\nVerifies patient information by interviewing patient, recording medical history, and confirming purpose of visit\nPrepares patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests; taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature; and reporting patient history summary\nSaves doctors’ time by helping with office procedures\nSecures patient information and maintains patient confidence and keeping patient information confidential\nProcess Referrals\nMaintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations\nKeeps supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders, and verifying receipt\nKeeps equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs\nUpdates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading professional publications\nServes and protects the practice by adhering to professional standards; facility policies and procedures; and federal, state, and local requirements\nEnhances practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments

    Required Qualifications:

    \n
      \nHigh school diploma or completion of an equivalent adult education program\nMedical Assistant diploma, technical certificate or certification OR 3+ years of experience performing the critical skills of a medical assistant after on-the-job training\nActive medical assistant certification (CMA, CCMA, NCMA or RMA)\n\n

      Preferred Qualifications:

      \n
        \nCPR certification\n3+ years of clinical experience in a Family Medicine setting\nExperience working as a Medical Assistant or EMT\nExperience with electronic medical record software\nExperience performing medical back office tasks including obtaining vital signs, injections/immunizations, phlebotomy, urinalysis and administering medications\nExperience performing medical front office tasks including scheduling appointments, prior authorizations, medication refills and referrals\n\n

        Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $17.74 to $31.63 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
