This role will be hired remotely anywhere within the U.S.
The Sr. Cloud Engineer is responsible for design, implement, and optimize our cloud infrastructure. This role requires deep expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), automation, security, and performance optimization. As a key member of the cloud engineering team, you will collaborate with DevOps, security, and development teams to ensure scalable, secure, and high-performing cloud environments.
How you'll make an impact
- Cloud Engineer & Implementation:
- Deploy and maintain highly available, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure in AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Deploy and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates.
- Deploy and maintain networking components, including VPCs, subnets, firewalls, VPNs, and load balancers.
- Automation & DevOps:
- Automate cloud provisioning, configuration, and management using Ansible, Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
- Work with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or Azure DevOps) to enable infrastructure automation.
- Implement container orchestration with Kubernetes (EKS, AKS, or GKE) and Docker.
- Security & Compliance:
- Implement cloud security best practices, including IAM policies, encryption, and vulnerability management.
- Ensure compliance with SOC 2, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, or other industry regulations.
- Monitor and respond to cloud security threats and incidents.
- Monitoring & Optimization:
- Deploy and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions using CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, or ELK.
- Optimize cloud cost management through rightsizing, reserved instances, and auto-scaling strategies.
- Collaboration & Documentation:
- Work closely with development, operations, and security teams to align cloud strategies with business needs.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and cloud best practices.
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Complies with all policies and standards

- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field or relevant work experience in lieu required
- 7-10 years of IT experience. required
- 4-7 years of experience in cloud engineering. required
- Experience with serverless computing (AWS Lambda, Azure Functions, Google Cloud Functions). preferred
- Experience working with security frameworks (NIST, CIS, ISO 27001). preferred
- AWS Certified Solution Architect Azure Solutions Architect, or Google Cloud Professional Engineer. preferred
- Expertise in AWS, Azure, or GCP, including compute, storage, networking, and security services. (Advanced proficiency)
- Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Bicep, or Ansible). (Advanced proficiency)
- Hands-on experience with containers (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm). (Advanced proficiency)
- Proficiency in scripting and automation (Python, PowerShell, Bash). (Proficient proficiency)
- Strong knowledge of cloud networking, firewalls, and hybrid cloud connectivity. (Advanced proficiency)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, GitOps, and cloud-native DevOps practices. (Proficient proficiency)
- Knowledge of multi-cloud and hybrid cloud strategies. (Proficient proficiency)
