The Area Proposal Manager is responsible for the planning, organizing, strategy, and execution of proactive and reactive proposal development within their assigned region. This role will support our sales and presales organization and will work directly with Sales and cross-functional team members of our response center support team to lead winning proposal engagements.
How you'll make an impact
- Own and manage Optiv's proposal process, from initial awareness through the delivery of a completed response and follow-up presentations
- Perform detailed analysis and deconstruction of RFx documents, develop detailed compliance and responsibility matrices
- Assemble, lead, and motivate a pursuit team consisting of a wide range of stakeholders in support of strategy sessions, proposal kickoffs, proposal product reviews, and transition meetings
- Utilize Qvidian for response coordination, content preservation, and serve as a Qvidian SME for assigned Optiv domain team
- Collaborate with members of pursuit team to develop strategy / win themes
- Serve as the regional point of contact for procurement queries with stakeholders
- Attend required training to continuously build technical and industry knowledge
- Challenge team to elevate and innovate in Optiv's response approach
- Take ownership of miscellaneous action items, tasking and assignments
- Facilitate and respond to new action items
- Work directly with Legal and Finance functional roles to ensure creation of a competitive bid / proposal package aligns with corporate objectives and overall governance.
- Perform other duties as assigned

What we're looking for
- Bachelor's Degree in Business other related disciplines required
- 4-7 years Experience with public and/or private sector proposals, service selling experience desirable preferred
- Experience using E-Sourcing platforms, including Ariba, Emptoris, Coupa, Scout, RFP 360, etc.
- Experience in MS Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook and medium skill level in other MS Office suite applications
- Strong ability to edit for grammar, spelling and punctuation following the AP stylebook
- Strong ability to work within a team and collaborate with internal and external resources
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Experience with Qvidian or similar tools preferred
- Ability to engage with executive leadership and sales teams
- Ability to work with international support teams
- Ability to present information in a persuasive and influential way
- Strong ability to manage time and meet deadlines
- A high level of self-motivation
- Ability to work remotely and independently
