    About the Team

    The Finance platform's goal is to create and upkeep efficient, scalable solutions that improve Finance operations. We focus on enhancing systems daily and ensuring long-term scalability. Using advanced technology, we aim to revolutionize Opendoor's compliance operations, making them more cohesive and automated. As an engineer here, you'll develop innovative products and establish a cloud computing platform that transforms real estate compliance. We're just beginning our journey.


    Role Responsibilities:


    As a Software Engineer on the team you will:
    Own and drive all phases of software development including ideation, prototyping, design and production
    Participate and guide the team's technical strategies, vision, decisions and architecture
    Solve a breadth of technical problems involving large scale distributed system and platform build outs
    Influence the technology and architectural roadmap of the organization
    Play an active role in hiring and mentoring other engineers


    Skills Needed:


    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent training, fellowship, or work experience
    • A track record of approximately 8+ years of solving platform-level problems for multiple teams across the stack by building and delivering production quality software systems
    • Proven expertise in Ruby on Rails, NodeJS or Golang. Ideally 5+ years of full-stack development experience designing, building, testing and deploying production-grade software using these technologies
    • Strong engineering fundamentals: we value transferable experience writing & debugging code, scaling existing services, and designing/architecting software systems.
    • Excellent communication skills: Clear written and oral communication is important to our ability to operate as a remote team and in building our relationship with our cross-functional partners
