Sales Manager

Tijuana, Mexico / Remote

What YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:

  • Lead all aspects of the achievement of the sales quota and grow a defined sales territory with key accounts including both direct and thru distribution/channel sales
  • Regularly meet with Distributor/Channel Reps to develop:
    • Greater understanding of their needs from the Hoffman product line
    • Brand strategies and initiatives to achieve sales goals
  • Hold distributor and sales office's meetings to update sales teams on promotions, introduce innovation, and receive input from the sales representatives to develop share of mind
  • Work with sales team to identify distribution voids and develop a gap closing plan.
  • Work cross functionally with global product category teams, marketing, customer care, pricing, global accounts and operation achieve company goals
  • Ensure continual updates via Salesforce.com on account and conversion status of target accounts
  • Facilitate conflict resolution between staff, clients, distributors and factory
  • Maintain knowledge of competitors' activities throughout assigned region
  • Leads the sales office team to drive a performance culture and develop the team members to ensure nVent values are lived and adhered too.

  • Coach/mentor direct employees and reps agencies to enforce leadership in sales process and company expectations regarding sales opportunities and growth
  • Establish performance expectations in support of the department goals and division imperatives.
  • Conduct written performance reviews of all sales representatives and/or rep agencies annually
  • Support employees with career development plans by working with HR
  • Foster a collaborative team environment with open communication, identifying problems and establishing resolutions
  • Promote knowledge sharing to strengthen technical depth of staff, ensure adaptable operational support, and enable process improvements
  • Resolve staffing needs and schedules in support of strategic plans
  • May be required to perform additional duties as assigned


  • You have:

    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience preferred in technical sales
    • 8+ years in an outside sales role in an electrical or industrial market along with 5+ years in a leadership level capacity.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of products within the electrical industry
    • Knowledge and understanding of selling through a channel model
    • Understanding of local market relationships and partnerships with customers, distributors and manufacturer's reps
    • Knowledge how a distribution and direct sales environment operate
    • Confirmed skills in developing new business and growing the existing account
    • Demonstrated skills associated with selling to multiple types of customers, including distributors, integrators/consultants, engineers and end users/OEMs
    • Demonstrated skills for achieving or surpassing results against an internal or external standard of excellence. Shows a passion for improving the delivery of services with a commitment to continuous improvement.
    • Ability to develop strong relationships in the assigned account markets to assess trends/conditions, and translate these into opportunities to deliver value according to timelines given
    • Demonstrated ability to negotiate by collaborating with others to arrive at a conclusion using compromise, persuasion, and influence, rationale and subtlety both internally and externally in a selling environment
    • Demonstrated ability to develop and leverage partnerships to drive the strategic plan. Consistently demonstrates alignment to organizational strategy to advance opportunities.
    • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing business circumstance and have the ability to thrive in a constantly changing business environment.
    • Fluency in English and Spanish is a must.
    • Availability to travel 50% of the time.
