Compliance & Logistics Material Manager

KEY ROLE RESPONSABILITIES:

Distribution Operations:

  • Lead NAM distribution center execution and continuous improvement to achieve objectives in Safety, Quality, Velocity, Productivity, and Inventory
  • EHS: Minimizes company risk and maintains compliance in area of environment, health, and safety (EH&S)
  • Lead transportation tactical execution from the shipping locations to meet customer service levels while driving productivity
  • In alignment with Enterprise Transportation strategy and approved carriers, implement day to day operational tasks in partnership with key carriers and suppliers, enabling them to meet our world-class quality, cost and service objectives
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Logistics, as a key member of the nVent Logistics Council, to develop and implement distribution standard processes, policies, systems, measurements, and talent management
  • In alignment with Enterprise Logistics technology roadmap, implement best in class WMS & TMS technology, handhelds, MHE and other technology and assets suitable to the scope and size of the operations and business requirements
  • Partnering with Enterprise Logistics on NAM distribution network strategy, including shared distribution center quantities, locations & design
  • Implement and deploy "Lean" processes in the end to end Integrated Supply Chain processes, with particular emphasis on transportation and distribution.
  • Drive operational excellence and best practices across the network, increasing productivity 5% per year
  • Develop and execute quality improvement plans for logistics
  • Implement quality management systems to support compliance, regulatory and customer requirements. Lead ISO 9000 and ISO 14000 to ensure effective quality processes and integration of Lean continuous improvement
  • Problem solve and improve defect trends - meet with responsible managers, develop improvement plans, provide historical data, document non-conformances, and facilitate timely disposition of the non-conformances.

Compliance Imp/Exp:
  • Identify the correct filing of Customs documents in order to make sure they are in compliance with the existing tariff and non-tariff regulations applicable to duty deferral programs operations (IMMEX program)
  • Settle level compliance of the temporary imports of machinery and equipment in regards to the legal entry, stay, location and use of such goods.
  • Verify the right incoterm rule prevailing on every foreign trade transaction is declared on customs documents, to prevent any issues in regards with the valuation of goods for customs purposes.
  • Keep strict control of the term of stay of all temporary imports of goods and to keep track of documents used to import raw materials, machinery and equipment.
  • Supervise Customs documents for transfers of temporary imported goods made to another company operating an IMMEX program are filed by the Customs Broker and the counterpart on time.
  • Determinate security protocols in the supply chain are observed under the C -TPAT standards.
  • Make sure the Tariff classification numbers listed on the certificates of origin to be used on the importation of the goods into Mexico match with the ones declared on customs entry documents prepared by the Mexican Customs Broker.
  • Plan for and manage capital and expense budges, department staffing and training needs, and computer-based or other physical distribution projects.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's in Business/Commerce, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Finance or Mechanical degree (B.A., B.S.) or equivalent required.
  • 8+ years' experience in Transportation, Warehousing and Imp/Exp Compliance Mgr.
  • Deep experience leading transportation operations and optimizing transportation practices.
  • Training in Lean enterprise principles, methodologies, and behaviors
  • Knowledge and experience in Lean processes including VSM, MMF, RCCM, and Strategy Deployment
  • Strong knowledge in Transportation & Warehouse Management Systems.
  • Experience partnering with and leading in Logistics service providers on daily execution
  • Knowledge and understanding of network analysis tools.
  • Skill in process management, planning and change management
  • Demonstrated skill in identifying root causes of problems/issues by asking probing questions and the ability to develop recommendations for resolution
  • Skill in using personal computers including Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Previous experience implementing quality system documentations
  • Skills to build and maintain effective work relationships internally and externally (customers, suppliers, etc.).
  • Ability to build a sense of shared purpose and vision
  • Ability to negotiate by collaborating with others to arrive at a conclusion using compromise, persuasion, influence, rationale, and diplomacy
  • Demonstrated ability to apply strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interface with people at all levels within the organization and outside the organization
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing business circumstance and have the ability to thrive in a constantly changing business environment
