Job Description


Supervises, hires, trains, disciplines, and evaluates the performance of support staff of the Vocational Educational program(s).


Job Responsibility


1. Leads the activities of assigned team members by communicating and providing guidance toward achieving department objectives.
2. Supervises, hires, trains, disciplines, and evaluates the performance of team members; ensures performance appraisals are completed in a timely manner.
3.Provides input to department leaders to determine budget allocations for the department.
4. Provides ongoing support to team members working on job placement, evaluation of clients and student progress.
5. Interviews and evaluates individuals to determine degree of disability if any, eligibility for services and feasible vocational goals.

6. Provides services which may include, administering comprehensive vocational assessments and develops service delivery plans.
7.May arrange with other departments for an individual to observe and/or participate in actual work situations within the hospital as part of the assessment process.
8.Writes weekly progress notes and provides regular counseling services/sessions to review individual assessment results.
9.Supervises job developer with coordinating placements of job experiences for school based services, maintains relationships with district personnel, parents, employers and referral sources.
10.Assists with the scheduling of staff to cover services and ensures all services are covered.
11. Ensure paperwork associated with programs is completed in a timely manner.
12. Supervises the daily operations of programs including community outreach with providers and employers.
13. Communicates with referral sources to determine appropriateness of potential referrals and which services may be utilized.
14.Responsible for program development which includes community integration and increased hospital integration.

Job Qualification


•Masters Degree in Vocational Rehabilitation or related counseling field, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
•Current Certified Rehabilitation Counselor Certification, preferred.
•4-6 years of relevant experience and 0-2 years of leadership / management experience, required.
