This position is located in Linthicum, Maryland.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Plan, create and lay out environments in order to produce high quality digital photographs of company products, equipment, machine processes, people, portraits, passport photos and special events- in the photographic studio or any other location inside the Northrop Grumman campus and outside NG when feasible or requested. Process the digital photographs via company supplied PCs and laptops, professional graphics software (such as Photoshop) and professional printers. Supply digital copies of photographs, distribute to manager / customer and upload to company data asset management system if required.

WORKING PROCEDURE AND/OR RESPONSIBILITY ASSIGNED:
PERFORM WORK OF EQUAL OR LOWER SKILL LEVEL AS REQUIRED.

1. Carry out complex photographic assignments requiring a considerable amount of judgment, creativity and technical knowledge of digital cameras and photographic/graphic software (such as Photoshop) using digital single lens reflex (DSLR) cameras and various lenses. Analyze the environment in which the shot will take place and decide upon the proper lighting, lens length and other variables associated with digital photography.

2. Under the direction of the manager, carry out all assignments in a professional and courteous manner. Assignments can take place anywhere within the company campus and also outside of the company at military installations and civilian locations when feasible. Assignments may include taking photographs from aircraft, helicoptors or aboard ships.

3. Process all photographs using complex graphic and photographic software (such as Photoshop) in order to digitally enhance the quality of the photos by layering, sharpening, resizing, color correcting, brightening, touching up flaws and converting images into the proper file format. When required, provide the customer with proof sheets and digital copies for approval or feedback.. Capture retirement photos and digital slide shows. Deliver the media in a timely manner to the manager or customer via drop box or data asset management system. All media must be archived and labeled with the folder and file structure established by the Mission Systems photography team.

4. Record and update all jobs using the photography creative services request form sharepoint site. Create backup files of all photographic files/projects. Maintain the Sector's Media Database (software filing system)

5. Support the Audio Visual department for company meetings and events , including the set up and installation of AV equipment as needed. Operate simple audio and video recording equiment as required. A basic understanding of the company network, company PCs/laptops and certain software is needed as well as familiarity, knowledge and use of audio visual equipment such as DVD and VCR players, microphones, data projectors, wireless equipment, digital switching equipment, phone conferencing equipment, sound systems, electronic white boards and all types of television projection screens.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:

Bachelor's degree in photography, fine arts or related field or 4+ years' experience in professional photography.

Experience in corporate advertising/communications department preferred.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:

Four years' experience in professional photography.

Experience in corporate advertising or communications department preferred.

Experienced user of the Adobe Creative Suite of applications.

Experience operating DSLR cameras and various lenses.

Technical knowledge of editing and photo equipment.

Must have advanced knowledge of professional lighting gear and techniques.

* Experience coordinating and directing the execution of creative assignments for advertising, news, publicity, and/or technical use.
