Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Space Systems is currently recruiting for a Tool and Gauge Inspector Level 3 or 4 to provide support to our Promontory Receiving Quality Inspection team in Corinne, UT.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Successful candidate will work independently to perform a wide range of quality inspection tasks. Specifically, receiving inspection tasks. Performing various inspections on incoming materials and reviewing supplier documentation to verify compliance.
Perform visual, in-process and final dimensional inspections on tightly tolerance piece parts, subassemblies, and final assembly.
Perform tool inspections on various programs and assembles/disassembles tooling according to best shop practices.
Performs required inspections in accordance with procedures and planning documentation.
Performs required inspections using standard measurement instruments.
Routinely coordinates and interfaces inspections with Customer and/or Government Representatives.
Operate Smart Scope, Laser Mic, coordinate measurement equipment including Laser tracker, stationary CMM and portable Arm.
Perform Quality Process Assessments.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
Candidate should have technical strengths in processing, operations, and inspection. Possess the ability to plan and organize work to accomplish assigned tasks. Candidate should have the ability to work multiple programs while maintaining attention to detail.
Interpret drawings and specifications. Advanced Blueprint reading and knowledge. A working knowledge and understanding of GD&T and AMSE Y14.5.
Perform certification review on supplier documentation and issue Authorization to Ship (ATS).
Be strategic in the identification of technical needs and solutions coupled with a strong program execution focus.
Possess excellent communication skills and effective interface with Mission Assurance department members, suppliers, customers, all other departments within the organization and both technical and non-technical personnel.
Ability to record detail information accurately, timely and follow instructions.
This position may be filled at the level 3 or level 4.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform successfully in this role, we believe candidates should have the following education, skills, and experience.
Level 3: High School Diploma or equivalent required; 4+ years of related work experience
Level 4: High School Diploma or equivalent required; 6+ years of related work experience
Must have advanced understanding with standard Mechanical Inspection techniques and tools.
Must have good computer skills - MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, Costpoint, QMIS, EPLM, ePIC, ESI, Benchtop, SmartSolve.
Must be able to perform all MRB tasks start to finish and see an issue to closure.
Experience with ISO 9000/AS9100 Quality Management Systems.

Experience with Continuous Improvement/PES techniques.
Must be able to operate a CMM and/or portable CMM using the PCDMIS or PolyWorks software.
Ability to articulate and enforce quality standards and specify reasoning for deviations/nonconformance to standards.
* Willingness and capability to train junior inspectors on processes, procedures, hand measurement skills, and CMM troubleshooting and data analysis.
Primary Level Salary Range: $60,800.00 - $101,400.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $72,200.00 - $120,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
