Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is currently seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager II to join our Armament Systems Business Unit located in Plymouth, MN. Armament Systems specializes in the development and production of Ammunition, Guns and Precision Guidance Ordinance.
Position Summary
This position is for a Manager of Materials Program Managers (MPMs) working with either the Ammunition Operating Unit or Combat Systems Operation Unit of the Armament Systems Business Unit. In addition to overseeing a staff of approximately 10 individuals, this Manager will also be responsible for being the Materials Program Manager for a couple smaller programs. This manager's responsibilities include collaborating with senior level division, Business Unit, and program leadership to understand business requirements. Responsibilities will include planning, negotiations, risk management and functional performance, managing key subcontractor cost, schedule, technical and quality performance. This position will report to the Senior Purchasing Manager overseeing all Materials Program Managers for all Plymouth Operations.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Oversees 10 Materials Program Managers (direct reports).
Develops the acquisition/sourcing strategies across the portfolio.
Leads supply chain Program execution and is accountable for resource planning, material cost, schedule performance, risk/opportunity management, supplier performance, and supply chain issue resolution.
Participates in critical supplier/subcontractor negotiations.
Conducts program reviews with various functional teams; i.e. supply chain, quality, engineering, finance, etc.
Ensures the program performs within the established program cost, schedule, and quality requirements.
Responsible to ensure compliance to FAR/DFAR requirements for the supply chain aspects of the programs.
Basic Qualifications:
This position emphasizes skills first.
Must have 14 years of experience in defense or aerospace systems and/or management in development or production projects
Will consider a Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering and/or technical discipline plus 10 years of experience in defense or aerospace systems and/or management in development or production projects; or masters degree plus 8 years of experience
Advanced knowledge of supply chain management techniques, practices or theories gained through wide seasoning and/or special development. Typically a broad functional knowledge.
Demonstrated success in leading managers and/or professionals to achieve projects cost, performance, and schedule requirements.
Demonstrated ability to create and maintain trusted relationships with internal and external customers.
Demonstrated success in leading and developing cross functional teams.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, with all levels of management and individual contributors.
Ability to travel domestically (10%-20%)
U.S citizen
Strong analytical skills and program financial understanding (P&Ls, EACs, etc.).
Ability to work from office on-site 3 days a week.
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience in supply chain management on a major program.
Master's Degree in a Business or Technical field.
5 years of experience Managing people.
Demonstrated experience in interfacing seamlessly with functional teams, customers and major subcontractors in an IPT structure
Experience working with the FAR/DFAR
Salary Range: $123,400.00 - $185,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
