Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Staff Test Conductor - Survivability to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Test and Evaluation organization. This position will be located in Palmdale, CA.

In this role, the selected candidate will perform the Low Observable (LO) testing and verification working for our Depot and Modification Center (D&MC). They will be required to understand LO requirements, plans, and test requirements; coordinate and develop the required tools, materials, and tests. The selected candidate will provide test development and execution for B-2 Bomber and special projects programs that are working to maintain and improve the low observables/signature management for current and future platforms.

Key Responsibilities :
  • Coordinating LO requirements with radar cross section (RCS) designers and supportability/maintainability engineers to ensure the system meets LO requirements.
  • Performing RCS analysis using tools such as KNOWBELL or Pioneer.
  • Testing current and future LO materials/processes for integration onto D&MC articles.
  • Integrating Low Observable technologies and design requirements into current and future designs
  • Providing guidance and assistance to D&MC technicians on application of LO materials and processes.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Must have a High school Diploma/Equivalent AND 18 years of qualifiable, related professional/military experience to include a background in a LO engineering/maintenance/application environment OR an Associate of Science degree AND 16 years of qualifiable, related professional/military experience to include a background in a LO engineering/maintenance/application environment OR a Bachelor of Science degree AND 14 years of qualifiable, related professional/military experience to include a background in a LO engineering/maintenance/application environment OR a Master of Science degree AND 12 years of qualifiable, related professional/military experience to include a background in a LO engineering/maintenance/application environment OR a Ph.D. AND 9 years of qualifiable, related professional/military experience to include a background in a LO engineering/maintenance/application environment
  • Must have an active DoD Top Secret clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) within a reasonable period, as defined by the company to meet its business needs
  • Willingness to travel 10% of the time
  • Must be willing to work various shifts depending on the business needs, including but not limited to: 4x10 schedule (Mon-Thurs) 1st shift; 4x10 (Mon-Thurs) 2nd shift; 3x10 schedule (Fri, Sat, Sun) 2nd shift; 3x10 schedule (Fri, Sat, Sun) 1st shift.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • BS, MS, or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Physics
  • Experience in developing, designing and implementing RCS tests
  • Experience with indoor and/or outdoor RCS testing
  • Experience using near field imaging systems
  • Experience using RCS data processing software
  • Familiarity with analytical EM theory
  • Active Special Program Access (SAP)
Salary Range: $149,900 - $224,900

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
