This position will be located in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Position Overview:
The selected Staff Systems Test Engineer will perform testing support at NG hardware in the loop test venues, Government hardware in the loop test venues, and at fielded/operational sites for Ground Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Weapon System (GWS) assets. Testing will include Flight, Ground, and Cyber Test Events to integrate GWS with the GMD Element and Missile Defense System (MDS) in both Missile Defense Agency (MDA) System Test Labs (STLs) and in fielded/operational locations.
Essential Functions:
Conduct ground and flight test activities for a Missile Defense System
Lead teams in a ground and flight test environment
Generate reports and documentation using Microsoft Office Suite products such as Excel and Word
Work in a technical team environment characterized by frequently changing tasks and new priorities requiring quick responses
Prioritize and adjust tasks to accomplish test and project results with limited oversight and direction
Estimate testing to be done and acquire necessary resources to complete in a timely manner
Collaborate and communicate openly and effectively with teammates and customer representatives
Develop and implement data management strategies and policies
Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security across all platforms
Manage data collection procedures and maintain comprehensive data documentation
The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings across all levels.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university and 12 years of related experience, or a Master's Degree and 10 years of related experience, or 8 years of experience with a PhD.
At least 10 years' direct experience with C2BMC and/or GMD Missile Defense Systems
Experience with software and hardware test planning, monitoring, and test execution
5 years' experience in missile defense ground and flight test

Direct experience leading teams in a ground and flight test environment
Familiar with reading, writing, and execution of test plans and test case procedures
Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
Experience testing software and hardware for performance and functionality based on core functionality and requirements
Ability and willingness to travel 10% to support business needs.
Applicants must have a current active in-scope U.S. Government DoD issued Top Secret security clearance at the time of application which is required to start.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience testing SW for performance and functionality based on requirement specification and ability to identify and document exact sequence of activities desired
Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with technical teams and customer personnel
Basic understanding of network infrastructure and hardware
Experience analyzing complex problems and developing solutions based on limited direction and definition
Primary Level Salary Range: $141,400.00 - $212,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
