Space Systems has an opening for a Staff Systems Engineer Program Protection to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals, and the position will be located in Redondo Beach, CA.
Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
You will be responsible for designing and implementing system security controls for advanced space systems. This requires high level enterprise-wide knowledge of capabilities, resources, supply chains and customers and third-party operations required to put together a plan to protect the program. You will be responsible for developing program protection implementation plans and conducting security review groups to govern the secure execution of a program. This also involves performing criticality assessments on the architecture in support of supply chain risk management assessments.
Please be aware that these positions will also be contingent upon capturing program award, obtaining customer funding, and holding final clearances prior to start date.

Basic Qualifications:


Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and +12 years of engineering experience OR Master's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 10+ years of engineering experience OR PhD Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 8+ years of engineering experience

Active DoD Top Secret clearance at time of application and the ability to obtain and maintain SCI access

Experience with DoD or IC Systems Security Engineering activities

Knowledge of Program Protection and OPSEC

Knowledge of product development lifecycle and system-security principles as applied to the SE lifecycle

Experience developing systems architectures

Experience working across a multidisciplinary team

Preferred Qualifications:

Active SCI clearance

MS in systems or cyber engineering

Experience with DoD or IC Space Programs

Experience performing criticality analysis; experience with Critical Program Information (CPI) and Critical Component (CC) assessments

Experience developing and implementing program protection plans

Experience developing and implementing supply chain risk management plans/assessments; understanding of NIST SP 800-161

Experience with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) for both IC (ICD 503) and DoD (DoDI 8510.01) communities

Understanding of Anti-Tamper, TEMPEST and Nuclear Surety standards and how these relate to cybersecurity

Ability and comfort interfacing with all levels of employees and management

Excellent communication (including technical writing) and organizational skills; strong interpersonal and analytic skills

Works well in a team environment

Primary Level Salary Range: $171,000.00 - $256,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
