The Advanced Navigators Engineering & Sciences team is looking for you to join our team as a Systems Engineering, Integration and Test Lead at Northrop Grumman. The role will focus on employing fundamental systems engineering and project engineering skills to ensure delivery of the next generation of airborne navigation system that meets all its requirements on time and budget. The success of this role is grounded in our ability to embrace change, move quickly and continuously drive innovation. The successful candidate will be collaborative, open, transparent, and team-oriented with a focus on team empowerment & shared responsibility, flexibility, continuous learning, and a culture of automation.
What You'll get to Do:

Participate as one of four different engineering leadership roles (along with the E&S department manager, Chief Engineer, and System Architect) to provide guidance to the larger engineering organization on project goals.

Establish and maintain the technical baseline for the project including KPPs/KPIs, cost baseline, schedule baseline, and requirements baseline.

Work with a team of systems engineers and the chief engineer to ensure all requirements are traced to an appropriate verification activity and those activities result in a configuration controlled set of verification artifacts.

Responsible for tracking and reporting cost and schedule performance (CAM duties) of the Systems Engineering Integration and Test.

Work with the program management office to determine major milestones, driving paths to those milestones, and mitigate risks against achieving those milestones.

Ensure the engineering team is adhering to sound engineering processes in the development, production, test, and sustainment in accordance with company policies, procedures, and quality standards.

Present to customer and internal senior leadership on engineering project progress, risks, and mitigation paths.

Manage the allocation of test resources to accomplish competing project priorities within the team and between teams.

Serving as the interface to the Engineering Discipline/Department Managers to coordinate staffing requirements and ensure proper skill mix to support IPT activities.

Coordinates and prepares cost and schedule configuration control board (CCB) packages for baseline change approval

Managing scope and aligning to contract and statement of work requirements.

Forming tiger teams to address issues with disciplined root cause and corrective actions.

Risk management, mitigations, and interface with risk boards.

Developing proposals for new projects for integration and inertial navigation systems to various military platforms.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree with 12 years of experience, a Master's degree with 10 years of experience, or a PhD with 8 years of experience in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics or other related technical fields.

U.S Citizenship is required.

Ability to obtain or maintain a DoD clearance

Minimum two (2) years' experience with experience and training in Earned Value Management System (EVMS) principles and application, or similar knowledge, or as a Cost Account Manager (CAM)

Experience in all aspects of the engineering process, from requirements analysis through verification testing.

Experience with Quantifiable Backup Data (QBD), waterfall, and/or Agile development processes.

Experience with Product Lifecycle Management, Configuration Management, and Model Based Engineering environments.

Experience in presenting to various levels of leadership.

Experience in proposal and new business capture conforming to the FAR and DFAR including bidding.

Prior team leadership in DoD programs.

Proficiency in technical problem solving, to include decomposition, root cause analysis, solution development, implementation, and monitoring.

Proven, effective planning, organizational, and communication skills.

Ability to work onsite for 4 days, in Woodland Hills, CA.

10% travel required

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in a relevant technical or management specialty.

Familiarity with Navigation Systems.

Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.

Knowledge of/experience in transforming legacy processes to more efficient, streamlined, digital capabilities.

Experience with VBA and macro development for automating reporting tasks.

Experience with Jira, Confluence, Doors, Cameo and other project management toolsets.

Active DoD Secret or higher Clearance.

Demonstrated ability in prioritizing multiple tasks

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
Salary Range: $171,000.00 - $256,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
