We are looking for you to join our team as a Staff Network Engineer based out of San Diego, CA. As a Staff Network Engineer at Northrop Grumman you will have a challenging and rewarding opportunity to be a part of our Enterprise-wide digital transformation. Through the use of Model-based Engineering, DevSecOps and Agile practices we continue to evolve how we deliver critical national defense products and capabilities for the warfighter. What You'll get to Do:
We are looking for an experienced Network Engineer proficient in a wide range of networking technologies and concepts to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in TCP/IP fundamentals, routing and switching, network design, firewall management, network security, wireless networking, virtualization, and cloud networking.
Key Responsibilities:

Design, implement, and maintain complex network infrastructure
Configure and troubleshoot routers, switches, and firewalls
Manage network security and implement best practices to ensure data protection
Optimize network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues
Implement and manage wireless networks
Deploy and manage virtualized network environments
Collaborate with other IT teams to provide network solutions that meet business requirements
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in science, engineering, or related discipline with 12 years of experience; or 10 years of relevant experience with a Masters (MS) degree; or 8 years with a PhD
An additional 4 years of relevant experience/education can be considered in lieu of a Bachelor of Science Degree

Strong understanding of TCP/IP fundamentals
Proficiency in routing and switching protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, VLANs)
Experience in network design and architecture
Hands-on experience in firewall management and network security
Knowledge of wireless networking protocols and standards
Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V)
Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, etc.)
Clearance: Candidate must currently have, and be able to maintain an active/current U.S. Government DOD Secret Clearance or higher.
Preferred Qualifications

Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent
This position is contingent upon active Secret clearance and program award.
Salary Range: $155,500.00 - $233,300.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
