Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.The Northrop Grumman Microelectronics Center (NGMC) of Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking an exceptionally talented, motivated, and creative Staff Microelectronics Systems Engineer to support the standup and maturation of a new microelectronics line at our Linthicum, MD facility, the Advanced Technology Lab (ATL). Located outside of Baltimore, Maryland - where we design, manufacture, and test semiconductor products for internal and commercial production customers as well as emerging technology programs. Northrop Grumman's ATL semiconductor foundry is a unique capability supporting a range of production microelectronic devices (Silicon, Gallium Arsenide, Gallium Nitride, and Silicon Carbide) and providing leading edge technology development in Superconducting Electronics and SLCFET. Our devices enable numerous Northrop Grumman's ground-based radars, avionic radars, and space systems.

The ideal candidate will lead factory strategy, transition planning, process standup, training, and new product introduction. The ideal candidate would also mentor other individuals on the team and verify compliance with customer requirements using Northrop and industry-standard tools and processes. The selected candidate will work collaboratively with cross-disciplinary teams, ensuring the successful execution of deliverables to meet program milestones.

Responsibilities:

Provide Systems Engineering oversight and coordination with a variety of internal and external teams to ensure the factory and processes align with product line requirements.

Collaborate with Test Engineering and BWI (Baltimore Washington International Plant) Manufacturing Operations to ensure factory alignment on product requirements and manufacturing best practices.

Support initial factory layout and identify opportunities within the layout for future growth and optimizations.

Advise on manufacturing equipment down-selections, installation plans, and process readiness reviews (PRR's)

Support conversations with Mission Assurance, programs, and other key stakeholders to validate factory readiness.

Support ramp up of a mission-critical program from initial builds through EMD (Engineering and Manufacturing Development) deliveries.

Support planning and quoting of future products to be built by the factory.

Develop a logistics plan for incoming material, kitting, storage, and delivery that aligns with program needs and Next Higher Assembly needs. #NGATL

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelors in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or any related STEM degree with 12 years of relevant experience (Masters with 10 years exp, PhD with 8 years exp).

Experience supporting the startup of a new microelectronics assembly line

Experience with purchasing manufacturing capital equipment tools

Experience with Microelectronics assembly and/or Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) manufacturing

Experience with Kitting and Factory Logistics

Knowledge of J-STD-001

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.

US Citizenship required

Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) with SCI clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

Subject Matter Expert (SME) for J-STD-001 requirements and/or J-STD-001 committee membership

Verification and Validation (V&V) experience, including developing and executing product Manufacturing Readiness Reviews (MRR's) or Process Readiness Reviews (PRR's)

Prior experience acting as a liaison between various stakeholders and customers

Formal or informal mentoring of early-career engineers

Top Secret (TS) with SCI clearance #NGMC

Primary Level Salary Range: $163,200.00 - $244,800.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
