The Microelectronics, Design, and Applications (MDA) organization is seeking a Staff Factory Statistician - Data Scientist to join our team and pioneer new approaches, design and implement technologies for a computer integrated manufacturing system. You'll work in a fast-paced team environment alongside physicists, design engineers, and superconducting foundry engineers to make these technologies a reality.
Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is seeking a Staff Factory Statistician - Data Scientist. This position is located at the Linthicum, MD location.
What You'll get to Do:
Proposes appropriate data analytics techniques and sample sets required to make data driven statistically relevant decisions.
Evaluates proposed manufacturing changes to ensure statistical validity of data analysis used to justify changes.
Standardize statistical process control methodology, evaluations, requirements and key performance indicators consistent with statistical best practices.
Oversee the regular review and summarization of SPC data for the fab.
Coordinate with engineers and provide statistical consultations for data analysis and experimental design.
Collaborate on the development of curriculum for standardizing the training of fab personnel on SPC, DOE and statistical data analysis techniques.
Work collaboratively with other engineering team members.
Basic Qualifications for Staff Factory Statistician - Data Scientist:
A degree in a STEM area (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) with a minimum of 12 years of experience with a bachelor's degree, 10 years of experience with a master's degree, or 7 years of experience with a PhD.
Mastery of applied statistics and statistical analysis methods such as ANOVA, T-test, Tukey, etc
Highly skilled in the planning, execution and analysis of Design of Experiment (DOE) methods such as Factorial and Taguchi.
Strong understanding of Statistical Process Control methodology and how to best apply charting techniques such as Xbar, R charts, Moving Average and multi variable charts.
Familiarity with 6-sigma concepts.
Demonstrated problem solving skills in a manufacturing environment
Must be willing to work on site 100% of time
Limited travel to local Northrop Grumman facilities may be required
This position requires the applicant to be a U.S. citizen
Must be able to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance per business requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
Active US government security clearance per business requirements
A master's degree or higher in in Statistics, Mathematical Science, Data Science, or Engineering
Skilled in structured problem solving techniques such as DMAIC, 8D, 5 Whys and/or KT Analysis.
Experience with automated semiconductor process quality systems such as FDC, APC and SPC.
Experience in JMP and SPACE statistical analysis software.
* Six-sigma green belt or black certification.
