Position Overview:
The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program integrates the Missile Defense System. It serves as a crucial operational system that enables the U.S. president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations, observe the battle as it develops collectively, and dynamically manage designated networked sensors and weapon systems to achieve global and regional mission objectives. C2BMC supports a layered missile defense capability that facilitates an optimized response to threats of all ranges in all phases of flight. Additionally, C2BMC acts as a force multiplier both globally and regionally. The networks integrate and synchronize autonomous sensors and weapon systems to enhance performance. Furthermore, C2BMC is essential to all system ground and flight tests, which verify and exercise the capabilities of all current and future missile defense systems.
As an Algorithm and Control Engineer, you will design, integrate, and test tracking, custody, and firing algorithm solutions, as well as develop and validate complex models and simulations. You will collaborate with a highly skilled team of systems engineering technologists and algorithm developers to support various contracts and IRADs.
Essential Functions:
Will be responsible for designing, integrating, and testing tracking and custody algorithm solutions for tracking and fire control products, developing and validating complex models and simulations, such as six-degree-of-freedom simulations and effects-based simulations, and evaluating system performance in complex scenarios and environments
Supporting ground and flight test efforts, including Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) activities
Collaborating with internal leadership and external customers to support program reviews and technical interchange meetings, and facilitating root cause analysis events to identify root causes and develop associated corrective actions
Assess process and product performance, and collaborate with engineering counterparts on program activities to ensure that processes and products meet contractual requirements
Oversee product development, encompassing requirements allocation, architecture, design, development, integration, testing, and acceptance of products and solutions
Evaluate data to identify systemic issues and trends; provide reports to senior management
Provide inputs to the QPM to ensure accurate labor estimates for ECPs and ongoing proposal efforts
Engage in witness integration, test activities, and formal quality testing as needed.
Conduct reviews and inspections of program artifacts and deliverables, as well as related activities, to ensure that quality requirements, processes, and standards are met
Basic Qualifications:

A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Technology, Systems Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related discipline from an accredited university is preferred, along with 12 years of experience; or a Master's degree in Systems Engineering or a related field (preferred) with 10 years of experience; or a PhD in a related discipline with 8 years of experience
Applicants must possess an active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is necessary to start
Experience in systems analysis and Sabermetrics-like studies focused on identifying trends, improving processes, and reducing errors
Software Quality Engineering and related processes, including Systems Engineering Methodologies (Model-Based and DoDAF)
Basic understanding of Software Languages such as:
JAVA
Python
Code and peer review experience
Experienced reviewer of technical documentation
Experienced root cause analysis practitioner
Process auditing experience
An advanced mathematics degree with a focus on physics
Self-starter who is detail-oriented, well-organized, and capable of prioritizing and completing tasks in a dynamic and demanding environment.
Strong interpersonal and conflict management skills in a diverse environment and across various disciplines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; capable of creating and delivering briefings and status reports.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Systems Engineering
Graduate Certificate: Model-Based Systems Engineering (Ex, Stevens, Caltech, UCSD, USC, GWU, INCOSE cohort, etc.)
Certification: INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) Certification
Certification: Object Management Group Certified Systems Modeling Professional - Model Builder Intermediate (OCSMP - MBI)

Salary Range: $155,400.00 - $233,200.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
