This position will be located in Space Park/Redondo Beach, CA and is assigned to 1st shift 9/80 schedule.

Primary function is supporting Aircraft Structural Integrity Program (ASIP) for F-35 Program and other sustainment engineering efforts. Secondary functions in structural modification stress analysis supporting a high paced development, production and sustainment effort.
Looking for an Engineer who has experience with ASIP and analyzes, researches and develops structural engineering specifications and analysis methods involving metals, non-metallic and composite structural materials. Analyzes damage tolerance, durability of metal and composite (syncore and honeycomb core) airframe structures. Knowledge and experience of random vibration analysis, full-scale static and durability testing, subsystems, in-flight opening door structures and mechanisms, structural analysis certification processes desired. Tools utilized may include Catia, FEMAP, Patran, Nastran, CAEPipe, TMP SLIM/Vision, and a variety of software applications.
Essential Functions:
Manages ASIP requirements and deliverables.
Provides high complexity stress analysis for primary and secondary structure
Develop and analyze complex repair solutions
Develop and analyze complex fleet modifications/retrofit solutions
Review of completed analyses, drawings, and repairs for accuracy, clarity, and completeness.
Coordination and clear communication with other disciplines during the development of design solutions
Concise presentation and explanation of structural issues/solutions to internal management and external customer representatives
Maintains and improves part designs, equipment, and systems in support of production deliveries
Develops solutions to difficult problems that are thorough, imaginative, practical, and consistent with program objectives
Evaluation of as built products for conformity to standards, procedures, and specifications
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor of Science (BS) in a related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 12 years of relevant experience; OR Master of Science (MS) in a related STEM discipline and 10 years of relevant experience: OR a PhD in a related STEM discipline and 7 years of relevant experience
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Active DoD Secret or higher clearance, as well as, a Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs
Experience in Structural Analysis Methods and documentation, including hand-sheet analysis, as well as the development and manipulation of large Finite Element Models
Experience in development and analysis of fleet modification/retrofit solutions
Experience in development and analysis of complex production and fleet repair solutions
Experience in structural analysis certification process, writing stress certification reports and working with customers to ensure requirements are met
Experience in Metallic Structural Analysis of primary and secondary aircraft structures
Experience using PATRAN, or FEMAP
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working on F-35
Experience using F-35 proprietary tools: SLIM, VISION, IMAT, IDAT, PDM, MES
Experience with leadership roles and responsibilities
Experience building relations with customers
Experience in Full Scale Durability Test monitoring, in-test repairs, and teardown correlations
Experience in Bonded Composite Structural Analysis of primary and secondary aircraft structures
Experience with in-flight opening door structures analysis and mitigation
Experience in subsystems (hydraulics, PTMS, electric bundles) related analysis
Experience using Hypersizer/HyperX, Hypermesh, FEMAP, Nastran/Patran (Sol. 101/103/105/106/400), Matlab, CATIA v5, UNIX, Teamcenter, ENOVIA, CAEPipe, Abaqus
Experience in damage limit development and structural repair definitions
Experience in creating and running random vibration models, incorporation of PSD curves
Experience in Individual Aircraft Tracking stress equations
Current DoD Secret or Top Secret Clearance
Experience working on Special Access Programs

Primary Level Salary Range: $171,000.00 - $256,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
