EPE is seeking a Staff Engineer Electronics responsible for the design architecture, development and test of space hardware products. Expertise in digital circuit design, modeling and simulation, verification and test, and project leadership are desired for this position. Ability to mentor less experienced engineers on the team. Demonstrated ability to translate system performance and operational specifications into hardware requirements, design, and test specifications. This position supports our Space Superiority Division and Mission and Payload Programs Business Unit in Rolling Meadows, IL.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering or comparable STEM degree minimum of 12 years of relevant engineering experience (10 years with MS degree; 7 years with PhD)
Proficient in digital circuit design, schematic capture, and PWB/board layout and analysis tools
Experience with Altera and Xilinx FPGAs
Completed multiple board designs from schematic capture to drawing release
Experience with testing and using lab test equipment (oscilloscopes, DMM, spectrum analyzers)
Demonstrated project leadership by leading a design or overseeing a team to complete a design
Proficient with signal and power integrity analysis
Be able to work on multi-discipline engineering teams and communicate clearly within integrated product team leads
Easily adapt to design challenges to meet program goals and deadlines
Proficient in Mentor Graphics Xpedition, Hyperlynx, Cadence Allegro Design tools
No clearance is required to start, but candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Top-Secret clearance with Special Access
US Citizenship is required
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred years of experience: 14+ years
Top Secret / Special Access security clearance
Proficient in signal integrity analysis (SERDES, Bit error rates, jitter components and contributors, board to board analysis)
Proficient in power integrity analysis
Primary Level Salary Range: $163,200.00 - $244,800.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
