Northrop Grumman Mission Systems has an opening for a Senior Principal Electronic Warfare Systems Engineer to join the Airborne Multifunction Systems (AMS) Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test (SEIT) team at our Linthicum, MD campus to fill roles on multiple restricted technology development programs.
100% on-site work due to security constraints
Roles & Responsibilities:
Qualified candidates will assist the SEIT team in requirements development. This includes helping to baseline the system specification and developing "B" and "C" level specifications for lower-level hardware, software and firmware. As part of the "Capability 2" development, duties will include running Matlab analyses for baselining system performance (sensitivity, dynamic range, EIRP, etc.) and performing RF trades between antenna and lower-level RF components. Capability 2 will also require being the technical lead with a key external teammate, helping to develop their requirements and performing design follow to CDR. As part of the SEIT team, progressing the PDR design to a CDR level over the next two years is the key aspect of the program. Other duties include assisting with various IRAD efforts being leveraged for restricted programs of record. These efforts will include detailed planning and execution of numerous incremental performance demonstrations at NG and customer facilities.

Early in the system lifecycle, systems engineers develop parametric representations, visualizations and data driven analysis to support sensor requirements definition and use case validation. Progressing past analysis and design, Northrop Grumman Systems Engineers also support the integration of sensor modes and trackers from digital simulation environments to sensor labs to our on-site fleet of specially modified test aircraft.

Basic Qualifications for a Sr Principal Systems Engineer:

Active or ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance prior to starting
Active or ability to obtain SAP clearance
US Citizenship required
Either a Technical Bachelor's Degree with 8 years of related experience or a Technical Master's Degree with 6 years of related experience
Experience with requirements development and flow-down
Experience using DOORS application and performing Cameo modeling
Experience writing and executing analyses in Matlab
Some proficiency in understanding RF chain analysis and the ability to develop system hardware block diagrams from those analyses/trades
Excellent communication skills are required internally and externally given the numerous targeted working groups with the customer technical community.
Experience with system integration and test is a must, especially as it relates to planning and executing targeted demonstrations for risk reduction.
Preferred Qualifications for a Sr Principal Systems Engineer:

Active DoD Top Secret security clearance
Previous work experience with advanced EW architecture development

Salary Range: $131,100.00 - $196,700.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
