Position Overview:
As a software developer on the GMD Weapon System (GWS) Ground Support Systems (GSS) software team, you will be part of the team that writes the software that controls the missile defense system that protects the US. You will work in a collaborative environment to understand, implement, and test existing and new capabilities. In addition to software development, you will also be expected to support reviews of requirements and test cases that are developed in support of the GWS-GSS software team.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 8 years of related experience, or a Master's Degree and 6 years of related experience, or 4 years of experience with a PhD.
Extensive experience with embedded software development and low-level software to hardware interfaces
Experience with Java and C++
Experience with Python or other scripting languages
Must be able to support an in-person / closed-area work environment
Ability and willingness to travel up-to 10% to support business needs.
Applicants must have a current active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with automated software requirements, testing and analysis
Experience with gRPC
Experience with CMake
Security+ certification
Prior experience with the MDA GMD program.
Experience with Agile Project Management tools (Jira/Confluence) and DevSecOps tools and methods (Jenkins, Ansible, Git/Gitlab) of continuous integration/continuous delivery and deployment (CI/CD) automation
A current active in-scope DoD-issued Top Secret security clearance
Primary Level Salary Range: $131,100.00 - $196,700.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
