Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (MS) Engineering & Science (E&S) is seeking a Sr. Principal Project Manager to support E&S operational execution. The candidate will be responsible for communicating, organizing, and supporting each MS E&S division's with a variety of tactical, strategic, and operational efficiency activities that span across the MS E&S divisions and out to the MS Sector and Enterprise. The candidate will collaborate effectively across a diverse set of stakeholders and organizations (Business Management, Human Resources, Communications, Site Operations, and Executive/Program Leadership) to develop, implement, measure, communicate, collaborate, and oversee the change management associated with efforts that span the E&S organization.

Additionally, this role will encompass all aspects of employee experiences for a broad organization of disciplines, tenure, and backgrounds by leading efforts such as onboarding activities/content, develop a welcoming experience for all new hires, be a project lead for engagement events, serve as a liaison for the onboarding, training, and development for the MS E&S organization. This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on the qualifications listed below.
This requisition may be filled at a Senior Principal Project Management Level.
Responsibilities include:
Ability to serve in a Cost Account Manager (CAM) capacity as the E&S Investment Lead including running resource board meetings, review project proposals, and management of networks
Oversee and help direct facilitation of MS E&S Employee Experience efforts including onboarding activities/content, develop a welcoming experience for all new hires, be a project lead for engagement planning team and events, serve as a liaison for the onboarding, training, metrics management, and development for the MS E&S organization.
Sponsor and partner with the divisions to facilitate the Navigators (Buddy) program to ensure new talent are paired up with volunteers who will encourage connection, help identify, locate, and access resources, and provide an engaging and welcoming experience as employees join the team.
Develop, execute, and report out operational efficiency efforts that will drive cost savings for the organization
Have a full understanding of all MS E&S site level processes, procedures and guidance documents aligned to the sector.
Ability to serve as E&S liaison on Enterprise / Sector initiatives (ex. Engineer Week and Sector Award Nomination
Advise and execute communication and change management plans across all stakeholders at various MS E&S sites to build buy-in and ensure program effectiveness.
Nurture and foster a diverse and inclusive work environment.
Collaborate with MS and cross sector to support enterprise onboarding and employee experience initiatives.
Sponsor, define and execute developmental and networking experiences for employees, inclusive of programming for interns, rotational employees, new hires, manager community of practice, etc.
Attend and present charts, briefings, and materials to update MS E&S executive leadership on status and new or changed process improvements.
Help develop and shape additional programs/processes to improve Business of Engineering operations
A successful candidate for this role will be:
Demonstrate project management and organizational skills within a team-oriented environment.
Develop content, packaging, and briefing communications - both written and verbal - effectively at an Executive level to inform and drive decisions.
Collaborate across organizations within the MS Sector and Enterprise
Lead through a program or project start-up and effectively roll out and managing change.
Act with a sense of urgency and accountability; taking ownership of tasks and strategic direction.
Nurture and foster community engagement.
Sr. Principal Project Management Level Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 6+ years of related or a Master's with 4+ years of related to employee initiatives and/or project management experience.
3+ years of team lead and/or people management.
Experience leading strategic initiatives for a large organization.
Contributes to the development of new concepts, techniques, and standards.
Demonstrates ability to influence without direct authority.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong understanding of business value and how technical solutions provide business value.
Experience giving executive presentations.
Collaborative, influential, strategic, self-motivated.
U.S Citizenship with the ability to obtain/maintain an active DoD Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with leading change initiatives.
Experience with Jira, Confluence, and Power Automate.
Experience working in a defense environment/industry.
Experience developing technical and business strategies.
Experience with managing a project budget
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Primary Level Salary Range: $108,400.00 - $162,600.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
