This position is located in Roy, Utah and will support the Strategic Deterrent Systems (SDS) Division.

What You'll Get To Do:

Candidate must demonstrate an ability to interact effectively with internal/external compliance regulators with a high degree of proficiency. This includes resolving customer safety concerns and presenting progress on safety audits and corrective actions.

Designs manufacturing processes, for highly energetic, static sensitive, corrosive, and chemical processes.

Designs arrangement of machines and tools within the facility to ensure the safest and efficient layout.

Implement qualifications and change management processes to ensure products or services meet customer requirements.

Must understand all safety risks of the process and design the processes such that safety risks are mitigated or eliminated.

All processes must meet the minimum standard as outlined in (HOPs) Hazards Operation Standard.

Understands and complies with DOD4145.26 ATF.

Subject Matter Expert (SME) technical interpretation of requirements and investigation of compliance systems will be required. (DoD 4145.26, OP-5, etc.)

Engineers work closely with the Hazards Analysis and Cross Functional Engineering group in designing and setting up the processes.

Develops energetic processes such as safety interlocks, standardization requirements for mixes, and remote processes are incorporated into the process for operator and process safety.

Designs sequence of operations and quality control that specify procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.

Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.

Supports cross function matrixed investigation teams with emphasis on root cause analysis, process failure modes, non-conformances and effective analysis.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelors in Science degree with 8 years of experience; or 6 years of experience with a Masters degree; or 4 years of experience with a PhD

Must be a US Citizen and must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance

Experience in explosives safety programs

Experience developing and/or managing safety recognition programs

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelors in Science Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related technical field

Strong interpersonal skills and excellent ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.

Expert in Root Cause Analysis and Corrective/Preventive Action determination Strong knowledge of Defense Systems Safety systems, documents, and vocabulary, especially HOPS

Certifications in environmental or safety related programs, for example CHMM, CIH or CSP.

Experience in data trending and reporting.

A proven track record in the development and implementation of comprehensive safety management systems.

Basic understanding of chemistry and its application to personal protective equipment (PPE) selection, chemical processes and compatibilities.

Experience assessing the health impact of physical and chemical agents.

Experience working within a multi-team environment.

Skilled use of Microsoft Office Products (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Project)

Experience with Microsoft SharePoint and Cority.

Conduct risk assessments and evaluations and develop of Job Hazard Analyses (JHA)

Experience with accident investigations and root cause analysis.

Proven leadership ability to drive safety performance and foster continuous improvement.

Comfortable navigating ambiguity and interacting professionally primarily with compliance regulators and customer personnel as well as across the organization from VP to operator.

Salary Range: $107,800.00 - $161,800.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
