Through this program, the service-member will work on site with their host company, gaining experience in an entry to mid-level career path. The service member will be on the job training supporting a work schedule equivalent to 40hrs per week. Outlined below are the Goals, Objectives, and Outcomes for the program.
Goals - Provide separating service-members with job skills training in a professional setting during the final phase of their military service. This program is specifically designed to offer hands-on experience that result in the potential to convert to a full-time opportunity as the conclusion of the training. Participants will serve as a pipeline for high-speed, motivated military candidates into NGC.
Objectives - Service Members who complete the DoD SkillBridge program will be highly trained, capable, future employees that align to the specific needs of the organization and are prepared to meet the NG mission "Defining Possible" on Day 1. This program provides comprehensive hands-on experience including professional development, networking with leadership, and training specifically focused on NG leadership principles, company history, customer/stakeholder engagement, product and service overview, and core job responsibilities.
Outcome - Offer service-members preparing for civilian careers a rewarding opportunity to join the Northrop Grumman team.
DoD SkillBridge Eligibility:

Has served at least 180 days on active duty
Is within 12 months of separation or retirement
Will receive an honorable discharge
Has taken any service TAPS/TGPS
Has attended or participated in an ethics brief within the last 12 months
Received Unit Commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) written authorization and approval to participate in DoD SkillBridge Program prior to start of internship.

Job Description:
Northrop Grumman is looking for an experienced Software Instructor in our Technical Data & Training department. As a member of the TD&T department you'll work in a fast-paced team environment alongside Design (software and hardware), Logistics and Reliability and Human Factors engineers, and program leadership to develop a software training program to teach international customers to design, program, patch, compile and test software for integration onto the COBRA Command and Control Center. This position will be on-site at the Troy Hill campus in Elkridge Maryland.

Responsibilities:

Train personnel to identify, troubleshoot, and remediate software issues
Work with software programmers and test and integration teams to design, code, test and integrate software updates to the COBRA Command and Control Center operational software in order to gain proficiency to train students.
Support the development, installation, integration, and testing of software updates for the COBRA Command and Control Center for customer delivery.
Become the subject matter expert able to perform skills gap analysis and plan, develop and implement a series of courses to teach customer personnel to code and test software updates and scripts and integrate mods into the COBRA Command and Control Center operational software baseline organically.
Communicate project status to the COBRA Command and Control Center Training IPT Lead.
Basic Qualifications for Software Instructor - Technical Data & Training:

Level 2 -
Bachelor's degree in computer science with 2 years of experience, or a master's degree in computer science with 0 years of experience.

Level 3 -
Bachelor's degree in computer science with 5 years of experience, or a master's degree in computer science with 3 years of experience, a PhD with 1 year of experience

Working knowledge in two of the following languages: C++, C, Java, HTML/XML, Fortran
Working knowledge of Linux Operating Systems such as Redhat, AlmaLinux, Windows Powershell, or OpenVMS DCL
Expert knowledge of structured programming techniques
Very knowledgeable of Instructional System Design (ISD) rooted in Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement and Evaluate (ADDIE) methodology.
Working knowledge of Agile development methodologies
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Demonstrated problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
Demonstrated ability to use basic manual tools.
This position requires the applicant to be a U.S. citizen.
Preferred Qualifications for Software Instructor - Technical Data & Training:

Practitioner knowledge of software programming languages, test and integration
Experience to program, test and integrate software for military systems
* Certified Military (Navy, Army, USAF) Instructor with programming experience
Primary Level Salary Range: $77,600.00 - $116,400.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $95,800.00 - $143,600.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
