Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking to hire a Staff Systems Engineer to join its team of diverse and qualified individuals. This position will be located in Roy, UT, Manhattan Beach, CA, Colorado Springs, CO, or Huntsville, AL and will support the Sentinel (GBSD) program in the Strategic Deterrent Systems (SDS) division.
What You'll Get To Do
The Sentinel program has an exciting opportunity for a Systems Engineer to join the team supporting activities including use case development, requirements definition / allocation, functional decomposition, interface definition, verification & validation, and requirements traceability.
Specific duties to include, but are not limited to the following:
Collaborate with program IPT counterparts to develop supporting systems engineering and design artifacts.
Work with both technical teams and stakeholders to develop and mature architecture content of large programs design.
Help develop and incorporate the appropriate requirements for the system and ensure that they are properly represented in the model.
Develop systems architecture using Cameo Enterprise Architecture (behavioral, structural, analytical).
Contribute to system requirements development, management, and analysis.
Develop unifying model techniques, procedures, and processes (for model development, tool integration, and team integration)
10% travel requirement to meet business needs
Basic Qualifications
Requires a bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) discipline and 12 years of relevant experience; a masters' degree with 10 years; or a PhD with 8 years
Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application with an investigation completed within the last 6 years, current and within scope
Must have an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need
Requires 3 years of systems engineering experience throughout the program lifecycle
Requires 3 years of demonstrated ability to lead complex projects with proven collaboration and coordination skills across internal and external stakeholder organizations
Requires 1 year of experience with conflict management and negotiation skills
Requires 3 years of experience managing/leading technical teams
Preferred Qualifications
Current Sentinel PAR access
Demonstrated experience in MBSE - both performing and leading teams
Demonstrated experience in program adoption of digital engineering concepts, methods, and processes
Experience with Project Lifecycle Management, manufacturing, sustainment, and sustainment are a plus
Experience with cloud-based environments, high performance computing, and virtualized environments
Demonstrated ability to make tough decisions
Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, presentation) across all levels of the organization and strong partnership/collaboration skills

This position's standard work schedule is 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Salary Range: $147,700.00 - $256,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
