Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Staff Manufacturing Engineer. This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Sentinel program.
What You'll Get To Do:
Designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling. Designs arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout. Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance. Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions. May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan. Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality. Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques. Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques. Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.

Demonstrates mastery of scientific theory and/or considerable innovation in identifying alternative approaches to problems. Regularly takes a leadership role in providing insight and knowledge transfer to others on internal and external technical solutions to solve complex problems.

Discretion/Latitude

Serves as an authority on scientific principles and broad technical areas. Demonstrated ability to formally present technical solutions to senior leadership. Known as an influencer of change.

Impact

Provides technical leadership, direction and mentoring to other technical employees in the application of scientific principles, tools and techniques to achieve practical end results. Develops advanced technological ideas and guides their development into a final product that has a direct impact on the sector. Contributes to priority initiatives critical to achievement of AOP and LRSP objectives. Serves as a mentor.

Liaison

Serves as organization spokesperson on multiple advanced projects and/or programs that have a direct impact on the sector (both technical and non-technical). Acts as advisor to management, co-workers and customers on advanced technical research studies and applications. Maintains critical external customer contact to understand their technical needs.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
Job Qualifications:
You'll Bring These Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Science with 12 years of relevant work experience; Master's Degree with 10 years of relevant work experience; or PhD with 8 years of experience. 4 additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.

Demonstrated leadership experience leading a technical and complex program effort.

Current active DOD Secret Security Clearance with investigation date/periodic review within last 5 years and ability to obtain program special access (SAP)

5 years of experience operating in a dynamic environment of increasing production schedules and high delivery rates

3 years of experience with supporting Technical Review Boards and making technical decisions

3 years of experience with Design Reviews, Process Control Documentation, Work Instructions, and Bills of Materials

Excellent verbal and written communications skills

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

8 years of experience operating in a dynamic environment of increasing production schedules and high delivery rates

Preferred candidate will be a proven leader; problem solver; possess a strong work ethic; and have excellent communications and interpersonal skills required to work closely with teammates, stakeholders and both internal and external customers.

Familiarity with Northrop Grumman Manufacturing Engineering, processes and procedures.

Knowledge and experience with Production Planning functions

Experience working with Common Product Lifecycle Management (CPLM)

Experience working with Systems Applications and Products (SAP)

Experience working with Manufacturing Executions System (MES)

* Prior experience with ICBM programs

Salary Range: $134,300.00 - $201,500.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
