As a Principal Engineer Systems Test or Senior Principal Engineer Systems Test you will perform a critical role in the success of the Sentinel program. The candidate will be responsible for developing customer contractual needs and requirements into test solutions that acknowledges the technical schedule and cost constraints. The role offers many opportunities to expand your technical prowess and upward mobility. Final grade level offered will be based on candidate level of experience.
Positions are available in the following locations: Roy, UT.
All levels of experience are needed. The successful candidate will meet these basic qualifications.
- Principal Engineer Systems Test: 5 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 3 years with a Master's degree; or 0 years with a PhD; 4 additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree
- Senior Principal Engineer Systems Test: 9 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 7 years with a Master's Degree; or 4 years with a PhD; 4 additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree
- US Citizenship with an Active Secret Clearance or higher (awarded within the past 6 years) with the ability to receive a Special Access Program (SAP) certification.
- Experience with integration and test principles and processes.
- Experience with systems engineering principles and processes.
Test Planning and Strategy
- Collaborate across cross-functional teams to define test objectives, scope, and success criteria
- Develop comprehensive test plans and strategies that align with program objectives and customer requirements
- Conduct functional and integration testing from product to system-level of the Sentinel weapon system in a lab, ground, or flight test setting, on-site or at a field location
- Configure, operate, and maintain specialized test equipment, instrumentation, and lab environments
- Generate detailed test procedures, reports, and documentation adhering to company and contractual policy, standards, and requirements
- Maintain accurate records of test results, anomalies, and troubleshooting efforts
- Identify and investigate test anomalies, deviations, and failures
- Develop and implement automated test scripts and frameworks to improve testing efficiency and repeatability
- Evaluate and mitigate risks associated with testing activities, proactively addressing potential issues
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, systems engineering, and quality assurance, to facilitate effective communication and project coordination
- US Citizenship with an Active Top-Secret Clearance or higher (awarded within the past 6 years) with the ability to receive a Special Access Program (SAP) certification.
- A STEM related degree
- Previous experience on EMD projects.
- Prior experience with ICBMs
- Experience with EVMS
- Experience with JIRA and Confluence
- Experience driving efficiency into product lifecycle, modeling and engineering best practices.
- Experience working in an Agile environment.
- Experience with AF Instruction 99-103 Capabilities-Based Test & Evaluation
- Experience with AFSPCMAN 91-710 System Safety Range Safety User Requirements Manual
- Experience with Model Based System Engineering with knowledge of SysML, UML, and tools such as Cameo.

Salary Range: $82,000 - $123,000
Salary Range 2: $101,600 - $152,400
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
