Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer / Sr Principal Systems Engineer for the Sentinel Aerospace vehicle team. This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Sentinel program.

What You'll Get to Do:
The selected engineer will be a systems engineering and Booster SME and responsible for driving technical rigor into work products for the requirements, interfaces, and architecture team for the Aerospace Vehicle Equipment (AVE) Segment and specifically the booster element and the LV IWO management Team. The engineer will be responsible for performing tasks related to RIA (Requirements, Interfaces, and Architecture) and providing guidance to the LV IWO engineers regarding the Sentinel Restructure and TMRR (ARR, SRR, PDR) execution.
The areas of technical guidance include but are not limited to:
Own and mature the AVE Requirements Verification Plan for the Segment and booster elements of AVE
Requirement development, decomposition, and refinement based on knowledge of the functional architecture and performance budgets
Ensure architecture is consistent with requirements decomposition
Verification planning and guidance for the booster elements of AVE throughout the Sentinel restructure activities
Oversee and guide LV IWO development of key interface artifacts for the GBSD Missile (AVE). These artifacts include Interface Control Documents (ICD), Interface Description Documents (IDD), and Interface Requirements Specifications (IRS) Additionally, adding portions of their content into the MBSE model
Support to environmental requirement development and test strategy regarding the AVE booster
Support to incremental TMRR type milestone (ARR, SRR, PDR) execution eventually leading to an AVE CDR (includes execution of CDR, RvC development, readiness assessment)
Support ground and to flight design reviews
Support AVE segment system engineers in the development of element level requirements, verification plans, and TMRR execution
Work in a collaborative environment, across all system functions and maintain good working relations with IWO partners and USAF customers
Basic Qualifications:
This requisition may be filled at either the Principal Systems Engineer level (T-03) or Sr. Principal Systems Engineer level (T-04).
Principal Systems Engineer: Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of experience with Bachelor's degree, 3 years of experience with Master's degree, 1 year with a PhD
Sr. Principal Systems Engineer: Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 8 Years of related experience; 6 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD
Required for both levels:
Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance, at time of application, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 years
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need
Regardless of degree level, 2 year of Systems Engineering experience required
2+ years working in requirements management tools (e.g. DOORS)
2+ years experience in large solid rocket motor industry
Preferred Qualifications
Experience modeling with Cameo Enterprise Architecture or MagicDraw (No Magic, Inc.) or other architecture modeling tools
4+ years of Systems engineering experience
Experience with DoDAF and UPDM or UAF Profiles
Experience with complex system development on large programs
Experience with design, test, and verification of booster hardware including Solid Rocket motors, Thrust Vector Controls, Interstages, and Ordnance
Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written
Technical leadership experience in the area of Systems Engineering

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Salary Range: $95,300.00 - $142,900.00Salary Range 2: $118,600.00 - $178,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
