What You'll Get To Do:

Responsible for overseeing and coordinating mechanical systems design

Evaluating mechanical systems, products, components, and applications by reviewing designs.

Ensures product quality by reviewing mechanical designs and validating that current standards are applied.

Supports the delivery of Mechanical Systems design Technical Data Packages, as-built TDPs, PDPs, interface models, and additional design artifacts

Supporting structured trade studies to evaluate alternative design solutions to resolve technical issues

Developing and presenting design change requests, coordinating with impacted internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring configuration control of the technical baseline.

Identifying risks and opportunities associated with or driven by design factors and executing handling/mitigation/capture actions to reduce risk or realize opportunities.

Developing and maturing Mechanical System designs that meet Weapon System requirements, UFC, MIL-STD, and other applicable codes and regulations.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Job Qualifications:

You'll Bring These Qualifications:

Mechanical Engineer:

Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 2 years of experience, 0 years of experience with a Master's degree

Required:

Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance, at time of application, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 years

Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs

Experience performing CAD modeling with design tools such as Siemens NX or similar

Experience performing mechanical design efforts on MILCON, major infrastructure/building projects, or Aerospace and Defense programs.

Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite of tools - Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Word

Ability to understand and interpret requirements

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

Must be able to work independently, function in a dynamic environment, and be flexible to changing direction

Excellent interpersonal, written communication, and presentation skills, including the ability to clearly and succinctly communicate complex concepts

Exposure to missiles program requirements & with propulsion

Proficient with 3D design/2D drawing CAD in NX

Proficient with PDM and/or CPLM

* Proficient with GD&T and ASME Y14.5-2009

Salary Range: $73,900.00 - $110,900.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
