Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a General Manufacturing Manager 1. This position is located in Ogden, UT and supports the SDS Division.
This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
What You'll Get To Do:
The selected candidate will serve as the lead of operations supporting the development of Sentinel Command and Launch hardware at the Command and Launch Integration Facility (CLIF). Sentinel CLIF deals with a variety of assemblies and checkouts for custom electronic equipment, racks and consoles. This work covers mechanical, electrical and fields kits. The position will be a member of the Sentinel Manufacturing leadership team, interfacing with multiple IPTs, customers and suppliers. The individual will have working knowledge of shop floor related processes, shop floor startup activities and operating to a demand schedule.
Direct and coordinate the activities to plan, prepare, issue, and control production schedules, in conjunction with Material Requirements Planning, to meet production/delivery requirements
Oversees the status of work in process, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that equipment, materials, and services are available, as needed
Assigns and manage staff to maximize efficiency and achieve schedule and target productive yields
Performs required SAP/CATS/Workday transactions to manage personnel, planning and financials
Develops, maintains and statuses operation metrics on a weekly basis to support program and business reviews
Provides specific direction and training, as required
Ensures 5S practices within cell areas
Utilizes both internal and external resources, and coordinates cell and functional activities with quality assurance, manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, inventory control, transportation, etc.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
You'll Bring These Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of related experience, or an additional 4 years of related experience in lieu of degree
Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need
Must have 2 years of professional experience in a Manufacturing, Production or Engineering environment
2 years of experience managing projects simultaneously
Experience managing or leading people and/or teams in an engineering or manufacturing environment and proven ability to status senior leadership
Experience managing in a 5S and FOD/FOE environment
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Prior experience working with ESD, Large Hardware, LRUs, Cables in a production facility
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
2 years of experience in formal leadership
A proven track record of developing and implementing strategies for change
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with all levels of Manufacturing, Program, Engineering, Functional Support Management, and Professionals
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Prior experience operating in a dynamic environment of increasing production schedules and high delivery rates
Aerospace / ICBM Industry Experience
Prior experience in program start-up
Experience working with Systems Applications and Products (SAP)
Knowledge of Manufacturing Management Plan requirements and transitioning to production
Prior experience interfacing with prime contractor site leads and USAF leadership personnel
Demonstrated success leading teams/and or organizations to achieve a common goal
Ability to effectively work within a team environment
Primary Level Salary Range: $84,300.00 - $126,500.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
