Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Systems Engineer (T-02) / Principal Systems Engineer (T-03) for its Guidance & Control team. This position is located in Manhattan Beach, CA or Roy, UT and supports the Sentinel program.
This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
What you'll get to do:

Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems
Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal
Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints
Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications
Tasks include but not limited to:

Designs and develops system architectures and defines key capabilities and performance requirements
Defines design and technology maturity constraints of the system in accordance with customer specifications
Develops thorough definition of system external interfaces
Defines system implementation approach and operational concept
Ensures requirements are met and evaluates performance with customer
Basic Qualifications:
This requisition may be filled at either the Systems Engineer level (T-02) or Principal Systems Engineer level (T-03).
Systems Engineer:

Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 2 years of experience, 0 years of experience with a Master's degree
Principal Systems Engineer:

Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) discipline and 5 years of related experience; 3 years experience with a Master of Science degree; 1 year experience with a PhD
Required for Both Levels:

Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance, at time of application, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 years
Must have a current or ability to obtain and maintain a Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need
Experience in Systems Engineering (SE) processes
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working on an Agile team
Experience with Engineering Requirements Management Tools (i.e. DOORS)
Experience with MBSE Management Tools (i.e. Cameo Enterprise Architect, Rhapsody)
Mature requirements definition experience including definition of verification plans
Understanding of the following specialty areas: nuclear surety, cybersecurity, flight safety
Strong experience in System Engineering (SE) process, including SE experience across multiple levels of integration for a DoD/Aerospace program

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Salary Range: $89,400.00 - $134,200.00Salary Range 2: $110,300.00 - $165,500.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
