Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Senior Principal Lab Cognizant Engineer (Level 4) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Lab Test organization. This position is located in Melbourne, FL.
In this role you will spearhead efforts to optimize lab environments, enhance testing protocols, and deliver high-impact solutions that shape the future of aerospace systems. Your contributions will be critical in maintaining our commitment to excellence and operational superiority in the ever-evolving aerospace industry.
Key Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

Develop and facilitate Test Readiness Reviews (TRR) to assess preparation for testing activities.
Oversee daily laboratory operations, including: strategic test planning & reporting, coordinating lab schedules, and leading and supporting test execution events.
Analyze and comprehend laboratory and system designs to ensure alignment with project requirements.
Create comprehensive test procedures and conduct dry-runs, followed by formal execution of Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP).
Provide support during Integration and Milestone events to ensure successful project progression.
Uphold compliance with Northrop Grumman Corporation and T&E Lab Operation policies and procedures.
Provide regular updates and briefings to management concerning the progress and status of systems and laboratory operations.
Ensure configuration management and test readiness of relevant systems and laboratory equipment
Basic Qualifications:

Must have a Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline and 8 years of related professional/military experience; OR a Master's Degree in a STEM discipline and 6 years of related professional/military experience; OR a Ph.D. in a STEM discipline and 4 years of related professional/military experience.
Must have an active DoD Secret or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance, prior to the commencement of employment.

Demonstrated experience in in test program execution. (I.e. developing test procedures, implementing technical edits and successfully executing test protocols, etc.)

Professional experience with mechanical and/or electrical schematics or drawings.

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity and/or prior experience with military training systems (Simulated or Live)
Experience with avionics systems, aircraft electrical systems, and/or Test Station Operations
Basic understanding of networking and software operations
Experience with using scheduling tools, such as MS Project
Experience with using Atlassian software suite
Experience with Linux and Windows Operating Systems
Expert ability with Test Equipment, such as digital multimeters, O-scopes, power supplies etc.
* Familiarity with Electronic Principles, data bus protocol(s) (ex. MIL-STD-1553, ARINC-429, IEEE 1394)
Primary Level Salary Range: $118,600.00 - $178,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
