Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is looking for a motivated, self starting Wiring Harness and Circuit Card Repair Operator to join our team in Rolling Meadows, IL. As an integral member of the Special Tactical Electronic Warfare Systems (STEWS) team, the selected SCA Engineering Technician will participate in the repair, modification and update of electronic systems ranging from airborne RF and IR systems, laboratory test stations, and transportable flight line electronic combat system test sets.
Duties:
Responsible for repair, modification and fabrication of cable assemblies, wiring harnesses and complex electronic assemblies.
Responsible for component replacement and Printed Circuit Board repairs.
Responsible for repair, modification and fabrication of Shop and Line Replaceable Units.
Properly utilizing general purpose test and measurement equipment and tools.
Ability to read schematics and wiring diagrams.
Engineering Technicians will at times work in direct support of Engineering Prototype support, Engineering Change Orders (ECO) providing reasonable labor estimates and defining process inspection points for the development of master routing travelers.
Identify required tools, supplies and resources needed to maintain the work area as serviceable.
This position may be filled at either Level 2 or Level 3 technician.
Basic Qualifications for an SCA Engineering Technician 2
Must have a minimum of a high school diploma or GED with at least 2 years of repair capability experience (i.e. fabricating, repairing and modifying complex electronic assemblies, circuit cards, shop or line replaceable units and and wiring harnesses). Will consider an Associates degree or higher in related engineering field.
Must be able to obtain all required Soldering certifications and meet associated training requirements.
Must be able to work on-site in Rolling Meadows, Illinois.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret level of clearance.
Basic Qualifications for an SCA Engineering Technician 3
Must have a minimum of a high school diploma or GED with a at least 6 years of repair capability experience (i.e. fabricating, repairing and modifying complex electronic assemblies, circuit cards, shop or line replaceable units and and wiring harnesses). Will consider an Associates degree or equivalent in related field with a minimum of 4 years of engineering related experience or a Bachelors degree in related field with 2 years of related electronics/related experience, or a Masters degree in related engineering field.
Must be able to obtain all required Soldering certifications and meet associated training requirements.
Must be able to work on-site in Rolling Meadows, Illinois.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret level of clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience using controlled drawings and work instructions.
Experience with the usage, assembly and repair of military grade pins, connectors and the associated tooling.
Ability to assemble and disassemble electronic assemblies using detailed drawings, work instructions or Technical Orders.

Primary Level Salary Range: $21.95 - $21.95Secondary Level Salary Range: $24.55 - $24.55The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
