The Northrop Grumman Navigation Targeting & Survivability Division is seeking a Director of Programs 1 for the Aircraft Survivability Business Unit at our Rolling Meadows, Il location. Up to 25% travel may be required. Relocation assistance may be available.
The Program Director will lead all phases of programs from capture and inception through completion and closeout:

Responsible for the cost, schedule, and technical performance of a portfolio of programs.
Participates in the negotiation of contract and contract changes.
Coordinates the preparation of proposals, business plans, investment plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract.
Leads the planning and execution of the program in conjunction with Global Supply Chain, Manufacturing Operations and Quality Assurance.
Acts as customer contact for program and capture activities, leading program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance and new business opportunities.
Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems, and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications.
Provides day-to-day people leadership of team and creates an environment that accelerates development of talent; apply rigorous knowledge management to capture learning, drive continuous improvement, and enhance employee engagement
Supports the Operating Unit Director in strategic planning and product line planning across the customer base.
Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a similar technical field and 12 or more years of experience; OR Master's Degree in Engineering or a similar technical field and 10 or more years of experience
7 or more years of management experience in Functional Management, Engineering Management, or Program Management
Demonstrated understanding of EVMS and Risk and Opportunity Management
Experience leading development teams or programs
Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
Effective communication and presentation skills
Experience with DoD customer
Active DoD Secret Clearance; OR DoE equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's Degree in Engineering or a similar technical field
10 years of related experience
7-10 years of management experience in Functional Management, Engineering Management, or Program Management
Experience with Infrared Counter Measures and/or restricted customers
Experience with agile development, tools, and agile earned value
Experience working in a matrix organization
Experience with Capture Management / Leadership
PMP Certification
Salary Range: $183,700.00 - $275,500.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
